the ancestor cannot be mixed if the cert is genuine... if you not comfortable with the cert, maybe you can check with the respective association which issue the cert...

welcome to silky thread and please post some of your silky photos here...

Conangirl, thank you for your reply.

Whether he is pure breed or not, we love him nonetheless.. Oh ya, I am ychien89, as previously posted. This is my new account..xD

here a pic of him. His name is Vivi. He is going to turn 4 this year.
We have to keep his fur short because somehow my mom is seriously sensitive towards the fur, never happened before. Wonder why.
So in the end he looks a bit like Australian Terrier...xD

i got a M.Schnauzer and a shih tzu mix.
Silky is always playful n like attention alot. she's alright when she's playing but if u wanna try to carry her suddenly she'll scare, u'll have to pet her then only can carry her up.

i dunno how the previous owner treats her, dunno how is treated at the grooming center. when i got her home i tot she's jus scare coz is a new environment to her, but after so many years there's only a lil improvement.

i'm running out of idea how to make her feel more secure

here's her pic (her name's silky)

desireeang, I've read somewhere that when you keep changing the owner of the dogs, she loses trusts on humans. This might be the case you know. But does she avoid you entirely?

Most probably her past experience is still haunting her There's nothing you can really do, really. The most is you pray that as time goes by, she learns to trust humans again. But it will be a slow process, from what you hear.

But you're very kind, really. =) I am sure she is in good hands.

sound like a problem here...did the silky received any animal abused before? when you bring her home, did you send her for check-up?
i think the silky need to social with more others small breed dog and outside world....what's your other dog's breed?although my silky also a coward but she's okay when she in playful mode...just scared of strange or new things only...

desireeang,

dun worry, as long as you love her, we all trust that she'll overcome her fear. Perhaps its due to some of her bad experience previously.

Probably if you can try these to help her overcome her fear:

-take her often to places that she might be scared of .. then give her treats if she is brave enough to go to that place
-play a lot of toys with her..throwing them all over the place, and fetching it back to you..then give treats
-start playing gentle with her so she feels secure..then slowly increase your roughness; she should be able to get used to it after some practice
-bring her to mix around with more dogs (esp which she's comfortable with) as dogs normally learns from one another
-treats for good behaviour and discipline are usually effective

Just my 2 cents biggrin.gif Cheers.

uncle zeist,
so happy to hear that your parents would let us have the place, but a big caution is that your house will full of pee/poo that day cause not all doggies invited are toilet trained in other place... i'm afraid your parents don't like this....if they still agree, then we really need to decide which weekend and confirm with them....

i'm really keen on this project of the year...hope we can held it successfully.... thumbup.gif
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
miyakochan89,
Vivi is so cute and the post is so elegant....my silky also have her fur cut short, not only because i have sinus and asthma but because she looks very cute with that cut!!!! I think i will keep her hair short forever....like puppy cut (forever young)....

my Mika also vomit everytime in car at first even short distance, but she's okay now after we "trained" her...you need to drive her at nearby neighborhood (short distance) and increase the distance gradually everyday...drive slow and don't brake and take much cornering at first, whenever she looks like want to vomit, open the windows and let her breath outside air (make sure the quality of the air outside also must not too hazy), if still cannot then only stop the car and let her have some fresh air outside....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
desireeang,
what a beautiful fur Silky have....really match her name...you comb it every now and then?

does Silky play with your other 2 dogs? does she scared of them?what miyakochan89, ck_spaceboy and Doraemon11 said all also true...you really need to spend times with her and let her more sociable more with other furkids...another question i want to ask is where do you keep her usually? did you let her roam freely all the time?

last is YOU ARE REALLY A GOOD SAMARITAN!!!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif Hope to have more ppl like you on this earth that can take care of roadside dogs.... thumbup.gif
---------------------------------
chuakz,
i'm not sure whether there's a time limit to train them to have stand up ears or not, but did you consult the vet/groomers on this?

what happen??!!! how can she being raped? how's the puppies looks like? know who's the culprit? that's my main concerned too when i first bring Mika home, that's why i spayed her once she reach 6 months old....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
muchan86,
hope your friend can find a silky that she dreams of...if i remember well, there's a silky expert mentioned here before in this thread, please check it out here, http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/452840/+1020 ...maybe you can contact zeist on this...

That is the main problem, how to take care of the dogs. But firstly, need to know how many heads and dogs are coming. So that I can plan properly. And also the plan (what time to what time) and makan and etc.

OMFG, SILKY THREAD IS BACK TO ALIVE, SO HAPPENING!
