hey,
I just checked all the PDS universities' websites and could not find any information regarding partnership with IMU.
Can someone please enlighten me on this? Are all PDS students GUARANTEED a place in any of the four listed universities? Or are there any specific requirements? It seems kind of one-sided regarding the reliability of this twinning system.
Thanks

the pms/pds pathway is considered a backdoor route, and will NEVER be openly advertised in the respective ms/ds........
if you have registered for a pms/pds programme AND passed all the requisite exams, you are guaranteed a placement.......but you will only know where at the last moment.....and most of the time, will not be your top choice....
however, there is a suspicion that the failure rate is tailored to fit the number of places available for matching......but if you stay off the bottom 20% of the cohort, you should be safe.......

Their local program? It sounds like a strategy to earn more profit this way by IMU.

It sounds like a strategy to earn more profit this way by IMU. Fail--->Resit--->pass(proceed)/fail(kick out)/fail borderline(repeat semester) Even if you've failed in eos 2 3 5 in med or eos 2 4 5 in dental but yet you passed all your resits, you are guaranteed a place in PMS/PDS. Only in the most unlikely event that no PMS or PDS would want these students, they will be given the local option. This post has been edited by Yeyechan: Jul 11 2011, 02:19 PM

Quick question, I was looking over at http://www.imu.edu.my/pro-un-entry.html and reading the requirements for medicine. At the bottom it says; QUOTE All qualifications should include B4 each in 4 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics (or Mathematics or Additional Mathematics) and another subject at UEC (as school certificate) or 5 Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject at SPM/ O-Level. Does that means I have to get B+ on all of my science subjects in SPM as well? So for example if I get 3B+ on chem, bio, maths in STPM but I didn't get any credits for my science subjects in SPM, that makes me ineligible to enter the uni?

Yes. I'm sorry for your unfortunate. IMU used to take in students regardless of their performance in SPM and only take in students based on their pre-u results. Right now, no more.

http://mmc.gov.my/v1/docs/3%20Minimum%20cr...20programme.pdfthere has been too much abuse, and too many students who clearly should not be pursuing medicine being taken in, as long as they pay the fees......... even the new rules are NOT strict enough, compared to developed countries......... Hey guys,
This is a question for those who are already studying in their respective pms universities (basically ex-imu-ians). When applying for visa, what were/was the document that you used to prove that you have completed year 1 and 2 in imu? My convocation will only be held at the end of August. Hence as of now, i have yet to receive my graduation cert. And my course starts in Sept so i will need to apply much earlier than that.
Would i be required to display all my year 1 and 2 transcripts? Or would i need to obtain some sort of a statement from imu to prove that i have cleared everything?
Thanks in adcance!

By 'official academic transcript', do you mean all the exam transcripts that we get after each eos? Or are you talking about something else? Thanks!
