It's not too early ah.........
Forgot what I've told ya?
The early bird catches the worm.

I've seen people coming for interview already.
It's definitely not too early, but it'll be better if you apply to IMU earlier.

Dentistry is super competitive.

My friend applied for PDS option during august (last year) for the 2010 intake but was told that it was already full then. And, only the local option is available. Fortunately, somebody rejected his offer so my friend was given that place =)

You have forecast results right? Use that one and apply, right now. So they'll be able to process your application and invite you for an interview. Just do it, right now, as you have not much time left before you're left out. Just GRAB and HOLD it first.

the cut off for dentistry is surprisingly lower than medicine........bbb compared to abb, so the places fills up rapidly, since there are only 50 slots for pds stream......

Looking at the number of A level students scoring A* and As, with that kind of entry requirement, no wonder the places are filled up so fast.

Its definitely commercialisation of quality!!

It will be interesting to look at the qualifications of the first batch of students in medic in Masterskill and Taylors. With the intake in October, surely they will be scraping the bottom of the barrel, if any is still left.

Maybe some from Monash Feb 2011 intake will opt to join them, if offered scholarship.

the criteria for entry is not how many a's you have, but how much $$$ your parents/sponsor have.......

there are lots of straight a's students, both from a-levels and stpm, who are interested, but lack $$$ to do it......

What can they do? Of about 90 non-malays students in UM medic for 2010/2011 only 13 are from STPM. So its not surprising that on top of borrowing from PTPTN, you HAVE to borrow from other financial institutions if you want to do medic in private colleges.

the reality is, most of the places in ipts med schools and places like russia, are filled by relatively mediocre students with money......while lots of poor cleverer students give up and do whatever course the ipta's throw at them........

such is the reality of msian education........

that's what happens when you make education a commodity based on business (and in msia's case, racially based 'affirmative' action) principles......

wait till they run healthcare on business principles as well..........you ain't seen nothing yet....

the sponsored students in imu have a tendency to flop in exams, more than private strudents, although many come with reasonable pre-u results.........would be interesting to find out why......

If the pre-u results are from A levels and they meet or are above the minimum entrance requirements, I will be surprised if a majority of them fails.

I guess my case is a little different...I'm applying for the 2012 intake...not 2011 intake smile.gif I figured I have to get my UCAS application over and done with...might as well finish off the dentistry application. Funny thing is, I'm applying for engineering course in UK and other parts of the world...whereas dentistry in Hongkong and IMU. I know..you're probably thinking that i'm crazy as I'm putting stock on hongkong..but like i said, my first choice is still engineering. Just wanna keep my options open and my parents happy( u know how parents get ecstatic about sons being dentists)
