QUOTE(simplyfaiii @ Nov 23 2009, 11:45 AM) ooh, thats good news! i'm planning to finish up my biomedical degree by next May, and then hopefully get into the august intake. but i heard its harder to get into the august one..? You'll get in IMU for sure if you meet the minimum requirement and answer the questions wisely asked during your interview with common sense. If they accept you but there's no more space for let's say the August intake, they'll slot you into the following year's February intake, only if you make it through the interview. In the most unlikely event that you are rejected, apply again until you get it... By the way, wanna ask IMU seniors here, if I wanna do the Bmed Sci then go through graduate pathway to PMS, what cgpa do I need to get a second upper class degree? How do I calculate it ar??? Does it include for I have gotten in my eos2 3 5?

QUOTE(chika138 @ Nov 24 2009, 07:06 AM) oh nope. eos 2 3 5 are counted, 30-50% (i'm not sure with the exact percentage) of the total cgpa u'll need cgpa 3.0 to get a 2nd upper grade that's why they dun take in students who just repeated, resit-ed or barely passed (borderline) at least u need C+ and B- for EoS 2 and 3 to be considered and accepted by prof mak because if u get lower than that it's not logically or sometimes even mathematically feasible to get a CGPA of 3.0 Wao... Thanks for the info =)

I have one question to ask. If I'm going for the IMU-PMS graduate pathway, how much do I have to pay for the addtional 1 year in IMU? It's not written in their website.

Wanna ask seniors here... Does pms matching takes OSCE into account? They normally use EOS3 to rank us right???? Or both EOS2 and 3...?

QUOTE(junyong5155 @ Jul 10 2010, 09:32 PM) Thx for ur info! I'm going IMU this coming august. As I'm a s'wakian, I tried to rent on my own but I had no time to fly to vista there just to view the room. So I'm thinking of stay at IMU accommodation for 1 sem then only I moved out. haha! Good. ME2/10? Wish u good luck. IMU welcomes u. Have fun during orientation. It's approaching soon...

QUOTE(limeuu @ Jul 11 2010, 01:18 PM) i think all preceeding results are given to the pms, and the respective pms will decide what to use for, their ranking of students...... having said that, the results of matching suggest the official matching algorithm is not followed most of the time......so for the majority of people, it's very much a lottery..... Woh........ To Dire: Haha... I don't know where to go... Anywhere also can but not brighton sussex and western sydney... Junyong: It tells u which batch u are. ME1/10 is for February intake, ME2/10 is for August intake lu...

QUOTE(C-Note @ Sep 14 2010, 08:13 PM) O.O Dentistry is super competitive. My friend applied for PDS option during august (last year) for the 2010 intake but was told that it was already full then. And, only the local option is available. Fortunately, somebody rejected his offer so my friend was given that place =) You have forecast results right? Use that one and apply, right now. So they'll be able to process your application and invite you for an interview. Just do it, right now, as you have not much time left before you're left out. Just GRAB and HOLD it first.

QUOTE(jasonlyh02207 @ Sep 18 2010, 10:13 AM) nono what i meant is, after i applied through online they nvr ask for processing fee until they sent me a mail, in this case after i submitted my application online , telling me all those "how to pay" and "how much i need to pay". But i duno whether it is smth that i shld do before interview or wat.. IN AN EASIER WAY, didnt pay processing fees = won't be called for interview?? wy not just ring them up? It's the easiest. They are open today.

QUOTE(limeuu @ Sep 25 2010, 02:34 PM) if postgraduate training in these countries is the aim, one should go to uk instead of oz.....postgraduate training opportunities is notoriously difficult in australasia.........and under current 'new' immigration and labour laws, staying back and doing post graduate specialist training is again available for foreigners..... what law is that?? I tot it's very hard to get postgraduate training in uk or aus??

QUOTE(afeeq @ Apr 4 2011, 02:54 PM) hai.. i heard that there will be new curriculum for mbbs august intake 2011? I think so... From what the Student Representatives Council have told us, I think the changes made are -No more EOS3 -No more resits(means you fail, you repeat semester or leave the school...) -Foundation 1 and 2 are combined and finished in one semester.... Woo.. 9 systems in one EOS is crazy. CNS and MSK is no fun. Taking into consideration that OSCE will be all-in-one as well, you'll cry for an extra 24 hours per day. @@

Even I myself think like i'm having holidays everyday in IMU except for exam period... Maybe it's time to end this unhealthy style of med school. =)

QUOTE(OctoberFly @ Nov 19 2011, 09:22 AM) My medical friend failed his EOS2. I'm not in the same semester, but I'm studying for my coming EOS now. I'm not a good senior, I don't know what to advice him. I've totally forgotten everything about EOS2. & his biggest problem seemed to be SAQ =/ It seems that he knows! but he doesn't know how to apply it to the questions. does past years help? =/ where can we get the past years ah? Honestly I never really do past years ahahaha.... 1---Practise more in writing as fast and as much information as he can... Even though it doesn't make "perfect" all the time but at least it'll be better. 2---Go for the remedial classes and eat up all the notes(Yes, ALL....! Never pick and choose) that are given by those lecturers and vomit them out SYSTEMATICALLY during resit. The lecturers are there to help them pass. If he doesn't make the effort, he should be the one taking responsibility of wasting his 70k and spending time looking for a new direction after failing medical school. Source: from xxx who failed in all EOSes yet passed all resits

QUOTE(OctoberFly @ Nov 19 2011, 07:10 PM) omg your source make me feel so happy for him. THERES HOPE! THERES LIGHT OMGAWD! I told him to go for the revision class (that you called remedial class i think) no matter what! but then, how to check when is it ah? it's in the e-learning is it? & have to pay the retaking fees before the exam right? sorry for asking so many unrelated questions, I'm always acting like a mother T___T;; Thank you so much!!
He'll automatically receive emails from AAD asking him to pay for the fees and going for the remedial classes. He'll have to be PHYSICALLY present for the remedial classes, not those e-learning rubbish. Of course he'll have to pay for the resit fees before the exam. LOL. Sounds like I'm very experienced, but I've never failed before. Time to sleep.
