QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Dec 10 2007, 09:33 AM) I think the key to it is managing your finances despite how much the pay slip is. Most of us allow our pay checks to blind us thinking that we've sufficient $ for the kinda "luxury" shopping out there and end up in financial debt. Don't let your finances manage you! @clsia1001, You're so right. Most people can't learn to be contented with what they have hence even when one's become a billionnairre, he would be looking for more ways to multiply that @used76a, There are families out there who survives on RM1k p/month. Perhaps u shouldn't be spending too much on unnecessary stuff if u can't afford them? i do not know how they survive with rm1k permonth.although i benn spending much but still i manage to save rm500-600 per month now but just started.i won't buy something that i cannot afford.so don' judge me like that.maybe b4 this,i'm spending to much but now i realise that saving is very important

QUOTE(laksamana @ May 4 2007, 10:13 AM) I was about 27 when I joined a company that paid me >RM10k/mth (before tax and other deductions). It was a local investment bank to be exact. Before that, I was earning around RM6.5k/mth, also in the financial line. So, earning >RM5k/mth at age 25-28 is definitely possible in Malaysia, but depends on your qualifications, and what industry you're in. wow!! which investment bank u joined?? care to share ur career advice in investment bank??

QUOTE(chezzball @ Feb 12 2008, 01:21 AM) the allowance is actually for oversea posting. i'm doing data warehousing oh man, then become engineer may have income close to 10k with 3-4 years exp... basic = 5000 OT = ~500 Bonus = 2.5 months RSU = 250unit *3.2*USD20 = 16000 oversea allowance average 3 months = USD50*3*30*3.2 = 14400.. so total sum up annual income = 110,000 ringgit , monthly average = RM9000.... but can't count like that rite...

After browsing this thread for some time, what I can conclude is that the fastest way to accumulate wealth is to go and work in an oil and gas company, finance and banking and IT industries...... (What I refer to here is being an employee, who receives a monthly paycheck monthly. Of course the fastest way to gain wealth is to own a business or be an professional investor.)
Then, many of you here also mentioned that a degree is only a stepping for success, what matters more is you attitude and soft skills
Anything that I left here? Please add more! It is quite daunting to page by page... there are 45 pages!!!
