So this Yoodo is not going away, just the brand Yoodo is gone. They will use CelcomDigi as the brand.

Whole thing confusing, why not they just start the CelcomDigi plan so people will decide to stay instead of porting out thinking Yoodo is gone.

Yoodo should lead with this, not just some corporate type of reply that is confusing and not answering their customer's questions.

Corporate reply = talk a lot but say nothing. So in case anything happen, nobody will have to take responsibility.

That CS reply is so clear.

Anyway for me, if they still offer codes for RM5 off, and can get RM20 for 20gb + 100 minutes, I’ll stick with this.

Otherwise that Hotlink RM25 bucks looks like a bargain.

CelcomDigi has reiterated that Yoodo users will be able to enjoy their existing plans after 29th August 2024 under CelcomDigi Prepaid 5G. They confirmed that all existing plan options on Yoodo will be retained such as the current popular 20GB for RM20 data offering. This is good news for Yoodo users who prefer their current plan over CelcomDigi Prepaid’s offering.

So anyone got may or June promo codes or they stopped receiving the code already? Hmm

Yoodo should update the data offering to be slightly cheaper. Like rm10 or rm15 data plan. Previously Digi offered next15 or can buy rm10 bos plan but the latter already gone and if convert to CD plan also no more rm15 plan

Right from the start, the telco has been saying that only the "Brand" will be discontinued and service will remain. Many sceptics and even prominent news portals like soyacincau made big hoohah by saying Yoodo will cease operations console.gif

When Celcom took over Digi, Digi became more expensive.

Unlikely that Celcom will make Yoodo cheaper once they take Yoodo fully under their wings.

Talk about it when their network merge. For now it’s separate and digi is rubbish, for me. Network is location dependent.
*
Not really separate, 40% of the network is already merged.
Many places Celcom and Digi uses same eNB now. Just path to core network is different.
CDG seems like tend to shut down Celcom towers and reuse Digi towers, so the network quality might drop. But merged towers provides very good speed (1+1/3+3/1+3+3+8/1+8/3+8) with 4x4 and 256QAM, able to achieve 200Mbps+ speed. (Max i got is 600+)

Let's see how long before the plan become expensive again. We already see what happen to Digi after the merger.

On my Tunetalk Epik 20 I can get around 200mbps indoor. If can achieve 600mbps then shame on 5g, because mostly also around that speed.

Means 60% is shit. lol
Nope

Why pay for shit
I was on Maxis, Digi and Yes. Digi is shit, Yes is shit water. U mob was a joke many years ago and I didn’t bother.

Coverage important for me. More so than speed. Because I’m mobile, I need mobile cellular coverage.

Oh I use YES 5G broadband at home.

because the condition for celcomdigi to merge is they must spin off yoodo to become unrelated party, cannot simply absorb pre-existing subscribers into celcomdigi.

now turned out it's simply absorbing into celcomdigi.

either regulator tidur, or regulator didn't think properly when they gave that condition before, or celcomdigi managed to coax regulator to bend down on this condition.

Me as a Digi users feels their coverage is somehow better than Celcom for residential area (Why? Because the residential area I usually go all Celcom mati before they merge with Digi)
Rural area of course Celcom wins , but so far for indoor I have no issue with Digi

Not to mention in my Kampung Digi have 1+3+7+8 CA (before merge) but Celcom only have 1+3 CA which resulting heavy congestion during CNY. Digi speed drop alots during peak time on CNY but at least still can scroll Tiktok / Youtube at 1080p, Celcom is totally dead, sending a WhatsApp text messages requires 1 minutes to send. (My cousin's TPG SG roaming on Celcom is basically unuseable, have to rely on Digi / Maxis and my own Celcom also dead at that time)

So I would say always have another alternative backup telco in Malaysia.
Im currently holding CDG,Maxis and U Mobile(Roaming) at the same time just to prevent one of the network not working.

Not sure how realisable this news is? If remains unchanged, just change the telco name “yoodo” to “CelcomDigi”. Then I no need to port out now.

Haha ya. App change name, maybe carrier name change name. They want yoodo to be gone in just name but keep almost everything else? They just say you can always port out or terminate anytime if you want to.

I will keep yoodo line because I got it in esim form on s22 lol. Don't want open SIM reader just for another SIM

Epik 20 no 5g. Mainly subscribe that as household line for call. And yes, streaming is limited to 360p.
