Ah, never tried this before. Not really a gamer.

Just did a test..

You need to VPN to login to Nvidia US GeForce NOW server and start the game then once the game is loaded, you can disconnect the VPN and resume play the game but the latency is very high..

Duration of playtime depends on your GeForce NOW membership.

Yes i'm aware of the different type of service.
If you already have SmartDNS then you can use their SmartVPN service which is already included in their subscription but you will need to sideload the app.

If you only want to use DNS proxy then i'm not sure about it.

Last i checked to access GeForce Now Singapore server, you don't need VPN but you do need paid membership.

Yeah , with smartDNS only can resolve the high latency issue.

Oh damn, the new Google TV interface just loaded on my Shield TV. Bloody ads and all.

Do you use VPN and connected to any one of the supported country's server even for few minutes?
If yes then that is the cause that trigger the new UI.

It will revert to old UI once the device detects that it is outside of supported countries. Sometimes it will take few days to change back.

The last time I connected to my Surfshark VPN was about a month back. I’ll just have to get used to the new UI I guess.

The ads are not overly annoying for now so I’ll just leave it be.

Anyone of you having problems with plex?
I'm getting stuttering playing 4k videos from plex.

It is a know problem if you are using the Tube version when playback of high quality 4K UHD REMUX with lossless audio. Less common or is not an issue if using the Pro version.

However, I believe the issue may be resolved when NVIDIA release the next firmware upgrade in the near future.

Alternative is to use VLC.

i think use Kodi will better abit.

IMHO, the Plex app can be a bit janky sometimes on my Shield TV.

I prefer using Kodi with the PlexKodiConnect add-on as my primary Plex client. Doesn’t require transcoding as much on my Plex server.

Regarding kodi, lately the v19.2 for audio n video doesn't have settings ( mostly on default
) compare v 19.1

yah i'm using the tube version.
I thought Shield is using the most powerful cpu , still have this problem.
