hi all...

i really need your help to decide on which model suitable for my work.
i'm dealing more on processing , extraction and analysis data from oracle database and therefore i guess i need laptop which have good performance.
the problem that i encountered is , most of the laptops are too heavy which i dont think i could bear to carry it everyday.i need to move around carrying the laptop and accessing the database.

I have been given option to select model from HP but i'm not sure which one is suitable for me.

My requirements are basically:
1) light weight not more than 2kg
2) spacious hardisk
3) fast processor
4) Windows XP preferable
5) not more than 10k

Rally hope u guys could advice me as i'm not good with all this computer stuff, i just want to make sure that i can do my job on time and speedy

im using V3415AU rite now.. so the specs must be higher than this lappie..

Procs - which is better? Intel or AMD?
GPU - NVIDIA or ATI (dont want intel one)
HDD - > 80G.. 120G preferable..
display - 14.1" preferable..
others - basic thing in V3415AU

one more.. i prefer not so heat produce laptop.. my lappie rite now uncomfortable to use coz to hot..

maybe u can find Compaq Presario V3600 series, try v3614 or v3616. the build is the same as v3400 series... of coz... they are the v3000 line


err... ppl dun usually go n ask wat motherboard... RAm type for all the modern lappy now always comes in DDR2

So basically just look at the amount of memory, the processing speed... for both of these, the higher de better. Generally it's Intel C2D > AMD TURION 64 x2 => Intel Dual Core. This is just the general comparison or perhaps my opinion but nonetheless the processing speed is also of ur concern in determining how good it is. i'm not really sure which hav better battery life and better cooling. coz i have not any 1st hand experience at
other machines.

I would suggest getting HP or Dell, i'm not sure if dell cover warranty overseas.

I think if they say 4 hours is standby all the time. It also depends on ur usage. If u use it for gaming, the battery life will decrease significantly. once again, It all depends on ur usage... haha

I've actually placed ordered for Sony VAIO CR-23, will be getting it tomorrow.
I need a final advise now, is there any other out there which is better than this CR-23 at the same price range?
