hi guys,

1. got question..izzit true acer battery cepat kong??
2. what diff between international waranty & local waranty?which 1 better?
*
1. It depends on the manufacturer and capacity of the battery. Most of the battery life reduced by 50% after 2 years.
2. Please be aware that some international warranty are regional-based (sony asia pacific warranty). You should compare the warranty between laptop brand instead of international and local warranty.

maybe you can look for discrete display card laptop which would narrow down your choices.

hi guys,
My MAX budget is rm2100 and i need to use it for:
1. programming (java-related framework) (top priority)
2. some spreadsheet, documents etc
3. internet. i don't play games on notebook.
4. Win XP and Linux only. i don't need vista.

That's all. I'm quite confused about the processors coz based on my research, for my budget, it's only limited to AMD Turion and Intel Core Duo. I have no any idea which 1 suits my specs better as my main concern is to do my programming work.
Well, in terms of RAM, 1GB would be great but current specs mostly are 512MB.
In terms of looks, I would prefer the lame black business looks like the Compaq rather than Acer Inspire series. But, this is not my main concern at the moment.

Based on my research:
Possible models are as follows:
Compaq Presario V3614AU,
Compaq Presario C714TU,
Compaq Presario C738TU,
Compaq Presario F731AU,
Compaq Presario V3658TU,
Acer Aspire 4520,
Acer Aspire 4710,
Acer Aspire 4710z,
Lenovo G400.

Any recommendation guys?

Thank you for your information. The model is CR22. I have read their warranty procedures, i think i have to reconsider Asus A8SR because Asus has warranty service point beside Imbi Plaza.

I am doing sales job and I do presentation in front of customer.
Initially my budget is 3k but my bf says he can sponsor, so top up to RM5k now.

I do not know whether this budget is too high for my usage:
I need to carry the laptop with me, walk here walk there.
I only use Ms Office, Internet, Music & Videos.

Clueless....

Hi. i'm a soon-to-be college student leaving in a few weeks time and i need to get a laptop mainly for my studies and assignments, not a hardcore gamer or anything. Need to get a laptop fast..before CNY probably..

1. Brand - Toshiba,Acer,Compaq or HP
2. Budget - somewhere below RM 4000
3. Specs - bluetooth, wifi,DVD,card reader, webcam, at least 2GB RAM, 120-160 GB HDD & nice graphics.. best if it can be white in colour smile.gif
4. Size - around 14 inch or smaller

thanks...

Let's help out a bit

based on ur requirement, ur laptop should has below criteria:
1) light weight (13.3" and below laptop)
2) good battery life (extended battery)
3) top quality & professional look (business class notebook)
4) durable & last long
5) trouble free

I cant think of other brands & models for the usage which fullfills all the 5 criteria, which most of the notebooks they are not so trouble free

I'll suggest IBM x60 or x61 with extended battery, it suites ur needs perfectly

look for Austin for the great price, he's a trusted seller smile.gif

Very good suggestion,
what does "touble free" means? Why most notebooks not so trouble free?? What are the troubles that I might face?

I went to Austin page, that is marvellous.

Although the look is not so alluring, but as what the review says, it is a really good business use notebook.
X60 Retailing at RM7488, Austin is selling at RM4299 for a used but 99.99% like new.

X61 retailing at RM6788, and he is selling brand new at RM4999.

Very good deal huh??
