Firefox ;

Login to the router, press F12, go to Network tab and keep it open.

Now, at the router configuration page, go to Advanced, Wireless, Wireless Settings.
Start with 2.4Ghz, directly click Save and pay attention to the latest stuff listed at Network.
Find select the correct stuff (forgot the name), go to Params, find your SSID name and edit out the @unifi, edit and resend.
Do the same with 5.0ghz?

Currently my pc does not install Firefox. sweat.gif If use Google chrome can edit it?

This method edit is it temporary one?
However if the router been restart or shut down, then the SSID name behind @unifi appear again, am I right?

Can use any browser. By right, if you have saved the new SSID name properly in the Wifi settings page, then it should remain even after router reboot.

Thanks a lot.

Similar instruction for chrome.
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4535308/all

Ain't nobody got time for that. I am using Archer C6 now. I already put away C1200 somewhere in the storage room.

If the chrome instruction still too complicated........why not considering flashing to US firmware instead? laugh.gif

hi all

using this router from TIME broadband and i wanted to use this router as wifi extender or something which i think there is no option for that after researching for this firmware.

question now is

the router having this firmware

user posted image

and also the firmware page is disable (i know how to get to the firmware upgrade page)

since the current firmware show EU, which firmware should i flash for it to have the wifi extender option? WDS i believe?

I think someone once wrote the WDS page is accessible on TIME/TM/Malaysia firmware without flashing to EU firmware. hmm.gif
Follow instruction on page 29 and see if you can expose WDS option.

The WDS function is hidden. JohnLai discovered it and shared here. I think tp link hide it for a reason as it will create issue with certain functions, for example the time setting will not work when wds is enable.

Edit1: Also unable to get the printer sharing function to work in wds mode. Maybe someone here has better luck and can share the method.

The US and EU version has it. I'm using the US version because the 5G wifi signal strength is much better compared to the EU version. The drawback is the 2.4G signal will be weaker.

JohnLai I've been running my router as wds for the past 12 days without any rebooting.

If i recall correctly, i disable SPI firewall and did not enable TX beamforming in my latest experiment. I'm using it with their stock adapter.

The printer sharing never work correctly for my case anyway.

You will not make it past 30 days without single random reboot....... laugh.gif
I tried those before.

Best record was 22 days before it randomly reboot as usual.

Nope, you must edit the html code to expose WDS option for all firmwares.

I do slightly a bit different method from your link given there.
So far not so fast plan to change router since the router still expensive in current market there.

If flashing to US firmware, then is it I need to visit TPLink US website there?
My concern is as long as after flashing to US firmware, still can connect unifi then I'm no comment for it.

Else if flashing to US firmware, afraid big issued can't connect unifi fiber.

Yup, get the firmware from TP-Link US website.
There were few users over here already flashed to US firmware and their unifi works fine......just remember to select correct VLAN preset first before setting up the PPPoE.

Ok keeping my fingers cross. Will report back in 11 days time. If lucky, I'll be first person to break the record of 22 days. 😅

Give it up laugh.gif , and if you afford to purchase new router......I really propose you to buy one.
I tried everything just to make C1200 works.

I do recommend TP-Link A6, it is a budget option and usable if you use IPv4 only (the dreaded IPv6 firewall issue and LED not changing color on IPv6) dry.gif No USB port though. Never encounter random reboot ever since I use it.

As more and more existing and new TM subscribers are moving to fibre or LTE/5G ........those who pay less in billing will be assigned with private IP range. Already happens to unifi basic subscribers. whistling.gif

CG-NAT (carrier grade network address translation) = bad for hosting own game server, P2P or CCTV, SFTP, home private VPN server etc.

Thus = IPv6 to the rescue....assuming if your application and device has support for IPv6. Ancient CCTV OS doesn't support IPv6 at all. dry.gif

The downside = TM IPv6 routing kinda.....meh........lack of proper IPv6 firewall on many devices........

Currently use stock TM Firmware, Archer C1200(EU) V1 TM Unifi Wireless Router. Any problem if upgrade to Archer C1200(US)_V3_180122 Firmware? 🤔
