Gave a dead link on a couple of spare routers I tried only worked on one. And if you can find the time to taunt you can also find the time to post once the answer which was given by another poster.

Nobody is taunting you.
Not sure why do you feel that way. confused.gif
Beside, I already informed you the answer is at first post/page. If the direct URL for firmware upgrade page doesn't work, you can always use the other poster method which I linked to....at the first post/page.

Plus, about those firmware links, you do realize it is last updated years ago, no?
The final firmware update for C1200 is fixing NetUSB the vulnerability, cloud account update and some security fix, probably CVE-2022-30075 which affected almost all TP-Link routers.
At least the instruction on how to access the TIME hidden firmware upgrade page still work.
And the WDS too.

Hi all, i recently repurposed this router which was flashed to this beta firmware years ago.
1.1.3 Build 20180502 rel.46288 (EU)

I am using this router as AP, but it only works with 5Ghz. Clients cant connect to the 2.4Ghz network. The network can be seen , but just fails to connect. Tried rebooting and resettting the router, still the same.

I see that there is an updated version on the tplink website
https://test.tp-link.com/en/support/downloa...00/v1/#Firmware

from 2022
Archer C1200(EU)_V1_1.1.4 Build 20220517

Can i flash this firmware to see if that fixes the 2.4Ghz issue?

I did some further tests. Windows 11 Pc can connect but takes a while to connect and getting internet access takes like 30 seconds. No such issue on the 5G network.
For IOS and Android , cant connect at all

Hello guys I need help. I have this router (TP-Link C1200 V1) and I want to make it as repeater using WDS MODE
I followed all the steps to enable WDS Mode using inspect element and its working
I can connect on my PC and Android Phone.

BUT the problem is I can only open Youtube, Google and Facebook only
other site like Reddit, Quora, etc2 cannot open.
CS/Valorant/Steam it say no internet connection
even Whatsapp on my Android no connection

• Change the DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 on PC/Android but still the same
• Using VPN app (Expressvpn & IPVanish) on Android cannot connect
• On/Off DHCP still the same

I'm using firmware *C1200v1_eu-up-1.1.3 Build 20180124 rel.52299.bin*
and my main router is FiberHome

I tried to flash from stock TM firmware to EU build 20220517 firmware. now stuck at 3% for half an hour. I don't think this is normal. do you encounter the same thing? how long does it take to flash?

EDIT: it's bricked. now only WPS light illuminates upon power up.cry.gif how to recover?
EDIT2: flashed again in recovery mode (manually set IP address). now ok.

Should be less than 5 minutes, but connected internet less than 10 minutes.

Previously I flashed the firmware, but didn’t check my of router password, so TM technician came by. I didn’t use the Chrome Inspector to open the developer tools. He said why your actual login interface looks different. I acted blurted only & no extra charges on next bill.

manage to enter recovery mode. I flash stock MY firmware, dated 23-8-2021. failed at 40 percent. doh.gif flash again with EU firmware, dated 180124. flash success.

I have a look at the WDS mode on the C1200. after scan, I see WEP security for the scanned wifi access points. is WDS limited to WEP? isn't WEP too old and not secured? not safe to use in this modern world?
I have an old ASUS 802.11n router (used in old school streamyx era) that also support WDS, but I'm not using it because I see WEP. I'm surprised the much modern TPLink also use WEP.

Yeah, literally WDS is limited to WEP & also WEP is insecure encryption. WPA/2/3 indeed provides better security.

if I buy a modern router with ranger extender mode (example Tenda AC6, TPLink Archer C54), it is not using WEP for the connection to host router. right?

This part I’m not sure, but in the WDS Bridging section have WPA selection. While the extender follows your main router connection. I strongly suggest using the same brand TP Link repeater.
