QUOTE(zheyuen @ Jan 16 2018, 11:50 PM) Hi all, I'm looking between the Redmi Note 4 and the Mi A1, not sure which one is better. The Note 4 has the Dual Apps and Second Space feature, which will be useful to me in my line of work, while the A1 runs on stock android, which seems to be less bloated and is better supported. So, does the Mi A1 have any easy ways to do what the MIUI can do in terms of Dual Apps and Second Space? Is the Mi A1's higher price against the Note 4 justified? Is it really that buggy? Thanks. If you need the features of MIUI then the Note 4 is a better buy. The Mi A1 is purely for those who want a clean, no-fuss Android experience. You do get guaranteed and frequent updates with the A1, but other than that you will need to rely heavily on the Google Play Store for your app needs.

I upgraded my A1 to Oreo but did not notice the issues other owners are reporting like finger print scanner gesture, bluetooth battery drain, camera flicker. I do get an occasional app not responding message for one particular app but I suspect it is because I use android to turn off the notification (the app don't have this setting).

QUOTE(Khazs @ Jan 16 2018, 04:33 PM) Welcome to our community. 😄 I've installed ES File Explorer as main file manager. DiskUsage by Ivan Volosyuk to monitor the amount of disc usage. For cleaning the cache & duplicate files, i installed Files Go By Google. Calculator is default program. No need to install. Stock Android is the easiest way to learn if you are migrate from iphone. Feel free to ask if need any help. QUOTE(myself379 @ Jan 16 2018, 07:16 PM) I would advice to get FX File Manager. For Launcher customisation go for Nova Launcher, if you like Nova Launcher then go for Prime, but I would advice you to get Prime during sales, it's known to sales at RM 1. Usually Christmas time. Whatever you bought in Google Store, the paid app will stick to the Google accounts, forever. Even when you switch to another Android phone with Google Play. Thanks Guys for the recommendation.. Will explore the phone... Not hard to use it tho anyway.. i like the stock android where can customize and install the apps based on the own preference... GOOD !

i'm looking for a new phone for my mum...she currently using redmi note first launch....no doubt is very lasting phone. But starts to lagged, tot of changing a new one for her. I'm not sure where this MiA1 good for her. She wants a phone with good camera, big screen, FB usage, youtube and whatsapp only. I'm looking for other option like huawei nova2I and seems like samsung A8 2018 is coming up of course the price is not worth way above for mid range phone.
Any suggestion. My budget is btw 1k to 2k

I transfered some pic to sd card, when looking at the google gallery, all is good...but when I connect to PC, the pic is gone (just the transfered pic)...others are fine. (so I assume the memory card is good?) I still dont know how google photo works exactly, since this is my time using it

QUOTE(Shinobi-X @ Jan 17 2018, 04:06 PM) hi guys do you think Xiaomi will release new Mi A1 this year? Who knows. Maybe yes, maybe no. Any Xiaomi pipu read this ? Mind to leak a bit of your company 2018 planning here 😊 ? Anyway, I'm inclined towards no, not until android P is being announce later. QUOTE(Shinobi-X @ Jan 17 2018, 04:06 PM) hi guys do you think Xiaomi will release new Mi A1 this year? It's too early to say that. Maybe Android One goes to other phone maker or different Mi model.
