This took less time than expected – Xiaomi is pushing out a new version of the Oreo update for the Mi A1. That update was pulled on Friday after the discovery of several nasty bugs.

The new update reportedly resolves the Bluetooth battery drain, random reboots and other issues, it also restores the gesture functionality of the fingerprint reader. Also included in this update is the January security patch. The original update packed the December patch.

If you already installed the defective update, the new version is a small 89MB download. If you’re still on Nougat, then it’s a more substantial 1,112MB update.

so far my Oreo update (got it OTA on 1.1.2018) didn't encounter such bugs problems. (touch woods). As for January update, just patiently wait for it.

file manager & calculator is stock apps in android.. swipe up and u will feel see full stock apps in your phone..

personally will advise have anti theft apps (Cerberus), banking apps, telco apps, utilities apps (TNB), Waze/Maps.. the rests is more on your personal usage and download by your own then..

Whatever iPhone have, Android have it or got more.

Welcome to our community. 😄
I've installed ES File Explorer as main file manager. DiskUsage by Ivan Volosyuk to monitor the amount of disc usage. For cleaning the cache & duplicate files, i installed Files Go By Google.
Calculator is default program. No need to install.
Stock Android is the easiest way to learn if you are migrate from iphone.
Feel free to ask if need any help.

I would advice to get FX File Manager. For Launcher customisation go for Nova Launcher, if you like Nova Launcher then go for Prime, but I would advice you to get Prime during sales, it's known to sales at RM 1. Usually Christmas time.

Whatever you bought in Google Store, the paid app will stick to the Google accounts, forever. Even when you switch to another Android phone with Google Play.

today, for the 1st time i enable bluetooth. and the phone hang for couple of minutes. then when the phone back responsive, i can use the bluetooth just fine. i hope to get the Jan security patch asap as I'm sure there is something wrong with the bluetooth functionality. i'm currently on Oreo Dec security patch.

welcome to android world bro. If you are on Android Oreo; for simple file management, u can just use Files (stock app which is pre-installed). Calc app also is already pre-installed. i believe you are still in Nougat. might just wait as Oreo update might be available again any time soon.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, would rather wait than try to force it smile.gif
Which specific app hangs? Mine seems OK.

Hi all, I'm looking between the Redmi Note 4 and the Mi A1, not sure which one is better.

The Note 4 has the Dual Apps and Second Space feature, which will be useful to me in my line of work, while the A1 runs on stock android, which seems to be less bloated and is better supported.

So, does the Mi A1 have any easy ways to do what the MIUI can do in terms of Dual Apps and Second Space? Is the Mi A1's higher price against the Note 4 justified? Is it really that buggy?

Thanks.

Redmi Note 4 is a better choice if you need that feature.
