SD 801 is power hunger proc. I owned a flagship phone with SD 801 proc. Now the phone become so laggy even just for light usage. I suspect this is due to new software update make it less optimize with the old proc architecture. Hopefully Mi A1 can last me at least 2 years.

2 years should be no problem, but if still perform well after that consider as a bonus.

As for YouTube, can use Chrome as workaround. Open YouTube in Chrome and play at full screen then hit home button. Tested, it works.

I had problem with WhatsApp earlier after updating to oreo when running on mobile network. turn out my mobile data is not working. after reboot, WhatsApp working fine again.

The AMOLED screen and bigger battery is a huge advantage and the most drawback is it a 2016 model phone. Not sure but thinking that P2 might get Oreo update too, but as for Mi A1, guarantee update to at least Android P. Overall I'm still satisfied with the Mi A1 screen despite it's not an AMOLED screen.

Mine also does not have bubble wrapped and I only open the box after 2 weeks received it. No visible damage with the phone box, therefore I'm confident the phone should be in good condition. Since you bought from Lazada, you can always complaint back to them if there is any issue with the phone.

i don't have any issue with my phone. might be cause by oreo update but only occurred to certain user. u can stay with nougat and wait until oreo 8.1 released.

if you have extra money to spend, just buy QC 3.0 charger. who knows maybe QC do really come on next update.

you need to check the output voltage. qc works by steping up the optimal voltage for your phone. qc voltage: 5V, 9V, 12V.. eg: samsung note 5 original charger output: 9.0V @ 1.67A or 5.0V @ 2.0A.

Never had issue with GDex before. They usually will come for 2 attempt delivery if the 1st attempt failed. but from your notes, it mean that they don't have enough time to deliver the item since there is too many parcel to deliver. Usually i just call the nearby GDex office, provide the consignment no and tell them i will self collect for urgent item.

try check with the shop where you buy your phone if it is Malaysia set or AP set. maybe can try contact xiaomi to verify as well.

try check location mode settings maybe you turn on the gps. you may try to reboot you device too. sometime android device need a few reboot after software update for it to be working normal.

Some application must has try to use the data to get the content updated. E.g: WhatsApp / Gmail / FB.

Try to open Contact then click on 3 lines on the left and choose Contacts. Not All contacts.

the reason why it shows 2 contacts because one is from Google and another one is from WhatsApp. Not sure if can hide the contact list from WhatsApp. If you uninstall WhatsApp, the duplicate contact gone. Maybe you can try to install other dialer app to see if there is no duplicate. AFAIK, there nothing can be done on stock dialer app.

I'm sure it because the Dialer app, not where the contact is stored. Because if you use other phone dialer, there is no duplicate contact issue except stock dialer app.

It's not on Contacts. Try open your Dialer, then click on contact tab on the right. There will be duplicate contact there.

just wait for the update to come patiently. no need to rush.

I'm still on dec security patch and battery performance quite good so far. will compare it once received the jan security patch.
