I thought so too but my Apple technicians says otherwise

Hmm, strange. I think if you contact Apple support directly to escalate this, I'm sure they'll be able to get the said service centre to toe the line.

I was a tech writer for two years so I do know what OEM means. Also, I checked it with the Apple technician in KL and another Apple technician in Perak. One quoted RM180 for half an hour's job and another one for RM191 for an hour's job.

And if you think the reseller is a con case...it was Mac City FYI.

So, unless you are Tim Cook, I think you shouldn't be so snarky and self-righteous about what's OEM and what's a con case.

if you really understood OEM then you would know the batteries manufacturer for Apple iPhone batteries will not sell the battery to others. Well, that is your OEM.

i won’t call it fake, just that it is not OEM. There ain’t any OEM iPhone battery unless the Co that makes the battery for Apple sell it to you.

then state battery is heavily/totally damaged, cannot repair, need to buy new phone.

dafak i thought all this battery replacement is to replace bad battery bangwall.gif
ask my GF to go ask Apple Store instead. if same story, gonna freaking lodge a report.

*seems like its much easier to do swap battery in Msia.

That’s a long wait. The battery supplier probably can’t cope with the spike in demand possibly because very few people changed it at its original price biggrin.gif

They said Apple can’t replace all the iPhone 6 (and later) in 2018 if all owners want to have their iPhone battery changed.
