Glad that I didn't take the same path as you guys. my latitude coming in tomorrow. The problem is, each M1210's hand built per order, so there's sure a little slice of lemony goodness in every M1210... Thank god I have nothing against temperamental tech products... I sorta live by the thrill of tuning stuff and solving problems, so I'm a bit happy my M1210's a bit temperamental... I'd be trying to break it otherwise... Think of it as a expensive configurable clone lappy with an exceptional warranty, (rather then a cheap branded lappy with a good warranty) that should make people happier... But the Lat, now that's a good piece of equipment... Lots of companies would go belly up if the Lat breaks down as often as the XPS... Hahaha... Besides, if the lappy's got no problems, it'll be a pretty boring thread... Maybe we should call the M1210 "the little lappy that could (most of the time anyway)"... Don't think theres any pics of the new xps.
Gizmodo has a post about it. QUOTE In other non-CPU news, the M1210 update will have a 8400M DX10 graphics card, LED backlighting, slot-loading DVD drive, and be 4 pounds and smaller/thinner than the previous M1210. The tipster got his or her hands on it recently and says it's great, but it's going to be very pricey Source : Gizmodo I wonder how pricey will it be? |

QUOTE(steventan85 @ May 29 2007, 01:47 PM) ok.... ur replacement system is definitely new ... That's good to know. So they will dismantle my laptop and use it to repair/replace other laptop parts? My system works pretty ok... just the wobbly part which I think is easily fixed. ur previous return system will be use as refurbished system , where they taken out the part and use it for warranty purpose ... they definitely wont use it as a new replacement unit for other user or sell it as a new unit .... if u caught them selling refurbished unit or repaired unit as new system , u can sue them .... Although my system hung yesterday. It turned off on his own after nobody used it for two hours. Then when I tried to resume it, it didn't work at all... I had to take out the battery and put it back to get it working again... This post has been edited by pigduck: May 29 2007, 02:23 PM |

I think I have replied so many times for the same problem here. Eiraku, i think we need a volunteer to do a tutorial for this one. pigduck, what do u mean by resuming ur laptop? Did u mean ur resume from idling (like moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard)?
I dont know what exactly is it but i think i helped some ppl with same problem before and so far their problems resolved. I would suggest to resolve the wobble problem first, bcoz no point of repairing the idle problem but then u will get a brand new replacement because of the wobble problem. let us know anything later. |

Hmm are there much differences between Core 2 Duo and Santa Rosa in terms of performance? Too bad there's no latitude threads here. I wonder how's the D630 performing.I almost wanted to get D620 instead of this xps last time.

@ pigduck, u can read this thread laptop hanging problem and follow the instructions. See what happen and fortunately it worked out for that guy.
I dont think it has anything to do with XPS, it is just random depending on your OS settings or driver-related problems. Few of m9700s owners' did have the same exact problem but it all happened after they switched to non-official graphic driver. As for you now, i dont think its a driver-related problem. Eiraku, a tutorial for this one would be a good help in the future i think. Alot of ppl get stuck with the same exact idling problem. I have been busy since last week. I hope this busy-ness will end soon. Let me know if im the lucky pick for the tutorial job. @everyone else Somehow the next XPS make me think, what is the best mobile card available for laptop in Malaysia for now? Dont give me the best mobile GPU in the world or i will slap the crap out of u. is there any 7950gtx ? that would be awesome demn. oh 8400M or 8600M is great, its have some dx10 features to play on for mobile system but obviously the 78xxgtx/79xx gs/gtx have more power than the mid-range 8xxx mobile series. On the downside tho, the 7xxx series lack dx10 features. So i dont consider 8400M is the best mobile card out there (yet), since there is no dx10 games (yet). and even if there is, 78xx and higher cards will do better in terms of graphic processing but just lack in terms of other functionality (lighting,AA,etc ) or dx10 capabilities to be specific.
