Guys with new 6800x,
can you post system info or sideload androidTV apps as Cpu-z or Aida64 to view detail hardware specification of tv.

So far from taiwanese site:

CPU..... Quad Core ARMv7 rev.2(v71) MediaTek MT5891
GPU.....ARM Mali-T860
Total Memory.....1.9GB
RAM..................2GB
Storage space....9.1GB
VA Panel....10-bit(?)

i received my lc60ua6800x today... been playing with it for hours! biggrin.gif

it's rather easy for me to set up everything and test all that i want to since i have used the predecessor lc50ue630x for 2.5 years now.

the tv is used together with himedia q10pro android box, denon avr, unifi tv stb and unifi 100mbps wifi.

below some of my initial findings and comments:-

.. 60" is significantly larger than 50"! well, that's how i felt on the first day.
my eyes are still getting used to it sitting at 10-12ft sway.
.. the remote is a 2-in-1 (with voice search) compared to the previous model which has 2 remotes.
i find the buttons too close to each other.... problem with mis-pressing with my fat fingers. tongue.gif
.. the UI is good, better than the last one, quicker in accessing controls, settings, etc.
.. the native usb player has improved in that it can now read ntfs, 2TB hdd; but... it can only do aac and dolby audio.
can't do dts or other higher - u just get video, no audio. this is not a problem for me as i dun use the tv for hdd playback.
.. use of airmouse or wireless mouse is fine, no problem.
.. sideloaded apps on androidtv (android 7.0) work fine - astrogo and a couple more for news, int'l live tv channels... for casual viewing.
(i do not want to put too many as i prefer to use my android box for others like kodi and acestream.)
.. youtube works good, plays 1080p, 4k with ease. (not using netflix... no comments.)
.. tv audio is surprisingly not bad... maybe due to this "eilex prism" feature.
.. optical arc is fine, all tv audio whether from tv usb player, androidtv apps or other player will work with arc - dolby digital works if applicable.
.. the wifi module is good, works on 5ghz just like its predecessor.

.. using my box for local playback, HDR works fine. if the file u play is HDR, "HDR" will be displayed when u press the display button on the remote.
.. i tried a variety of files and no surprise the 2160p hdr10 files come out the best followed by full 1080p ones.
.. HDR10 videos surely have deeper and brighter colors.
.. this tv is definitely brighter than its predecessor - even the default settings on the modes - std, movie, dynamic, etc. are quite bright.
unless u activate OPC which will get too dim.
.. i like standard mode most but may use an adjusted dynamic mode for some HDR videos.

overall, i m satisfied with it - it does what i expected it to do.

from desa home theater.. for rm3.5k, 5 year warranty, free delivery+installation, 1-for-1 exchange within 7 days if faulty.. i can't and won't ask for more! rclxms.gif

1) Did u compare playing video on usb port tv and himedia pro?
How is the quality?

2) Noob question, what is denon avr and what is the function of
this avr?

3) the tv connected through wifi or LAN? did you compare on
both of these?

1. TV makers make TVs; BD/DVD makers make BD/DVD disc players; media player make media players.
a TV maker will not make a great player - that's not their core biz.
a TV player is a bonus for light use; some are better than others.
there are many types of videos, many formats, many kinds of rips, many kinds of video quality or audio quality.
if u r a light user playing small files, any player incl a tv player will do.
if u r a serious AV person, u go for the best, whether discs or soft media.
for a movie, a small file is <1gb whereas a big one can be up to 90gb.
a TV display is only as good as the source and the player.
a good TV is wasted if one plays only poor grade files.
surely u can see the diff now. biggrin.gif
i never use the tv player, only for tests, to know; been using media players for 10 years.
difference is not only video or audio quality but in navigation, subtitles, file transfer, frame rate switching, watching via wifi, etc.
media or android box players - they come in many brands, models, capabilities, price - u can find the thread(s) for this topic.

2. AVR = audio visual receiver, an "amplifier" that takes input from a player/source and deliver video to TV, audio to speakers - home theater.
You dun need AVR if u dun care about audio - just connect player to TV direct, get audio from TV.

3. My TV is just next to router, wifi is as good as ethernet.
Another TV is 55 ft away, still getting good wifi... u gotta have good speed and good router for that.

yes... but with english labels, not chinese.
i am also surprised by the price of this one... bigger n better but cheaper than its predecessor 2.5 yrs ago!

this purchase was considered 6 months ago... waited for AV fair.

now, i have 2 home theater sets - one for all in the family and one for myself in a room.

if anything else i have to say, it will be... start junking sd/720p files, keep only full 1080p/2160p/hdr/bdmv's.

more so with 800mbps coming, nice! thumbup.gif
*
I've already deleted easily replaceable 720p & 1080p files in favor of UHD HDR x265/HEVC files. This or SDR is now my new minimum for keepsakes. In anticipation for when can enjoy it all on a proper display.. C'mon OLED, becum cheaper.. biggrin.gif

tech will become cheaper only if it gets adopted widely in the industry.

if it doesn't it dies... like betamax, palm pilot and netscape.

at this time, i am not convinced oled, dolby vision and dtsx will make it.

in a couple years time , we may see Zled, JupiterVision, 16K. laugh.gif

so, i stick to the traditionals - LED, HDR, DTSHDMA/DDTRUEHD. tongue.gif

i dun hv any mp4 videos anymore, not a file type i wanna keep long term.

but i wud suggest u check if the file has dolby, dts or other audio.

many tv's can't do dts or higher... do only dolby or lower... some can... that, u gotta ask in other tv threads.

this sharp tv for this thread - NO, it can't do dts and higher.

one thing... if u MUST do mp4, u can always buy a cheap box... rm300 or so - it will work.

becos mp4 is basic.

45UA6800X (I think it was 45", definitely smaller than 50 one). Tested it at ESH Starling Mall, cause I wanna find out if the TV could output DD+/DTS-HD.

Like I said earlier, VLC could play them + sound from TV speakers. But dunno about ARC side. Hopefully this pique your curiosity. laugh.gif

I actually agree with you. Thing is.. I've already done the early adopter thing where one pays a higher sum for "cutting edge", only to be let down a couple years down the line. Don't want to simply buy now, then next year.. Bam!. They release the Zled, JupiterVision, 16K. laugh.gif ....Manufacturing smaller (under 75") MicroLED TVs still faces costing issues and might take at least 5 years to figure out. Perhaps, I'll wait and see how Samsung's QD-OLED fares. Reports hinting at a 2020 release and it's a hybrid that would have all the benefits of OLED, all the benefits of QD and none of issues of LCD or the wear and longevity concerns of OLED.

Gosh, with that many sideloaded apps your system gonna crash unless u clear caches consistently
Sacrificing Youtube for Astro go? That's a bad idea as there are more new movies in free Youtube than Netflix or Astro go
However, my best movie apps come from China
Only problem is slow internet speed today
HDR is enabled automatically so no worry there. Next year Super HDR or SHDR...

Just crashed my USB movie again

a few more comments i can make on the tv:

.. this tv has only 2 (two) usb ports... previous model has 3.
use one for mouse, there is just one left for other things - sideload, playback...

.. when using unifi tv stb (or astro decoder, i think), check the input to see if it is set to "underscan" and not "full".
if "full", the sides will be cropped. other inputs like local playback, it is set to dot by dot, no other choice.

.. when doing live streaming, whether tv apps or from another device, do not be alarmed if sometimes the info box on top left comes on and off.
this happens when the stream is weak, the tv has trouble detecting the quality of the stream. with string streams, it does not happen.

.. if the tv is sluggish or needs a restart, go to settings/about/restart.
this will clear cache, restart the android. the restart in this model is much faster than the previous one.
note after restart, u gotta activate landscape option in rotation app again if using astrogo.
