u mean it is in portrait?

to get landscape, u need to install/activate adaptive/rotation lock app.

haha, i think i used the wrong words, my connect from PC to TV will be as follows:

PC via HDMI out (supports 4k HDR) to my Denon AVR (supports 4k HDR) to TV

Type of 4k will be downloaded from torrents around 40GBs size using Kodi player
*
if yr pc and AVR can handle 4k HDR, the TV will deliver.

ua6800x is basically the same as ue630x other than the HDR function.

so, what worked on ue630x will work on ua6800x.

as for distance... 7-8ft... coming from 50", u will take a few weeks to get used to 60"... like me. biggrin.gif

I see, how's the HDR performance on UA6800x? Is it bright enough for HDR contents? I read some owners in this thread that the PQ is not as good as UE630X, abit worried there

yea, UA6800X is value for money, i'm just afraid that my eyes couldnt see the whole content of the TV if i sit within 7-8ft, 55 inch will be the sweet spot for me. According to rtings's distance calculator, i should get 55 inch for optimum viewing experience.

However, i went to see the UA6800x in the showroom, i find it acceptable...lol, very dilemma
*
brightnesswise, it's fine.

when the 6800x detects HDR, it will auto turn off OPC and kick in some other settings to bring it to the right brightness.

630x does not do that. so, u gotta turn off manually or use some other setting to get the brightness.

not sure if it is due to 60" vs 50", i do somehow find the picture clarity of 6800x marginally inferior to 630x overall.

one thing to take note about this HDR thingy... the blacks are very black, the bright gets very bright.

e.g... a bright light in the darkness... the lighted part can be glaring while all else is pitch black.

need time to get used to it.... but can play around with the main and sub settings to get what u like best.

the colors are deeper and more vivid in HDR, of course.

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Sep 6 2018, 12:07 PM)
I think that app was not designed with landscape mode.  laugh.gif
*
have tried that before.

use app to set to landscape, it is good.

i found that the black in 60ua6800x is blacker than the 55nu7100 (i owned both) in same room, same video, non hdr mode
*
the black levels in ua6800x is definitely quite good.

no complaints there.

QUOTE(ericlai @ Sep 6 2018, 02:36 PM)
Yiks, then i need to compare the PQ with the Sony again...i saw the 6800x's panel upclose, it seems that you can see some visible pixel (i.e. small boxes) on the screen, hence, i think the PQ is a bit inferior compared to 630X.
One thing bad about the sony X7500F is the IPS panel, the 'black' is not so black biggrin.gif
yeap, played with the settings on UE630x before, so many settings to fiddle with, in the end just use standard mode with adjusted contrast and brightness biggrin.gif
*
it gets tricky if u r used to 50", then go 60 or 65"! biggrin.gif

also, it depends on the quality of the video u r playing... a 20gb 4k HDR rip won't give the same as a 80gb one or a 4k HDR bluray disc.

then, it's not like u r watching 4k hdr content all the time.

more likely 1080p 8bit SDR stuff - common rips, online streams, tv shows - that, the tv does very well.

After watched 50inches 6800x for a few weeks from the distance of 8--9fts in my bedroom...Starting to regret for not getting 60inches..😂
*
at that distance, i do not think u should go beyond 55".

unless u r watching highest quality 1080p/2160p 100% of the time.

i moved my 50" to a room, watching at 7-8ft - this is good, better than previous 42".

hi,

thinking between 50" UHD 6800 and FULL HD LE580, major content will play no exceed 1080p, mostly national TV, youtube, downloaded contents. is it suffice to just get a full HD instead of a UHD which maybe will make even smaller resolution content (like 720p or even 480p) look miserable? or for a size like 50" even in full HD only will suffer also?
*
the diff between UHD and FullHD tv's is the upscaler in UHD tv's.

for 50", 480p, 720p, even 1080p will come out better in a TV with upscaling.

consider also that as the demand for UHD tv's grow, the quality of hardware used and other features is also better.

but if must save the price diff, nothing wrong too.

Hi, how do you guys usually turn off the tv? Is it okay to turn off power in standby mode (via remote control "power" button)?
*
it's fine, been doing it for decades.

if u unplug the power, it takes longer to reboot the android everytime u power it up.

Ok thanks! I was afraid it might cause the Android system to go wrong if kept doing that.
*
just use the normal standby mode.

there is another mode u can try - quick start - check settings.

this standby setting supposedly will get the tv into operation even faster but will consume more standby power.

any1 experience judder in normal mode (watching 1080p)?

i dun feel much, but my family member says it judders
*
To get a meaningful response to such a question, u gotta tell what kind of 1080p.

Astro, unifitv, online stream or playback, what app, what player device, what file type, file size, etc.??

If u mean small low grade files played with tv usb, i m sure it is poor, no surprise.

If u play big files like 10 or 80gb with good separate box player, that's worth investigating further.

A typical avi 1080p 24fps video files, around 2gb. Playback using usb, built n player.
*
Avi 2gb is very low grade, sure u can understand.

Find n try the same title but mkv 5-10gb, u see the diff.

And be awed if u play same title 40-80gb via separate better player.

The TV is just a slave for display... the tg player also not very good.

Garbage in, garbage out. More so for a large screen tv.

This tv can display excellent stuff... u need better source, better player.

hi thank you..yes highest. perhaps latest model. sa5200x need above 1.1k

SInce below models same price, which will be a better buy?

LC40LE185M - RM850
LC40SA5100M - rm850

thanks bro
*
just from the specs, the SA5100M will be a better choice:
.. x2 engine vs ?
.. 2 hdmi vs 1
.. 7.5w x2 speakers vs 5w x2

sa5200x is more costly due to DVBT2 receiver, dolby digital audio.
if u dun need these, sa5100M will be OK.

I tried playing a 10gb 1080p movie yesterday, using 2 diff methods

method 1 - plugged into TV via USB
The movie has minimal judders, like 3-5 minites it judders alil, not very noticeable unless u purposely focus on the frame motion

method 2 - plugged into TV via HTPC
The movie has no judders at all

above is my little personal experience
*
good... now u know the diff between big and small files, diff between players.

get bigger files, better player, the tv will deliver its best picture.

Hi All,
Finally I got my TV!! Anyone knows how many variants for this model LC-60UA6800X?
On some site, I saw it comes with a touchpad R/C? Mine comes with a R/C with 2 whites buttons at the bottom (Nexflix & Youtube).
And the TV USB can't accept USB thumb drive bigger than 32GB. I slotted in 64GB pendrive and it said not recognized. Can anyone confirm this?
BTW this TV is really great! Loves its screen and sound. I saw my storage is 8.9GB available. Is this normal? I thought this is a 16GB one?
One thing about the WiFi, I saw somewhere that it supports 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz, but mine only can detects 2.4GHz network. Someone please clarify.
I thought maybe one is the cheaper variant with some perks omitted?? cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

My router is actually placed beside the tv, but the tv doesn't detect the 5g WiFi.
What sadden me is the usb doesn't recognise 64GB pendrive...
Other than the above, everything works perfectly.
Anybody can tell me whether this is the R/C that comes with this tv?
*
previous model comes with 2 remotes, incl a touchpad.
this model u bot, just one.
the one u got is correct.

no, the tv usb wil detect 1, 2 TB hdd.

it will detect/work with 5ghz. is your router dual band?

go to settings, and do a restart, reboot the android.

Thanks ,playing with router DSN (8.8.8.8) and disable IPv6 get back the smooth Youtube streaming 4/8K contens.
Notice that above 100Mbps speed LAN cable must be CAT5e or above (6..7).
*
dns 8888 or 8844 works good.

can try netflix, should work smoothly even for UHD pack.

cat5e is good for <1gbps speed.

the wifi module of the tv is quite good.

if signal strong enough, 5ghz will trigger; if too far like 50ft, it auto falls back to 2.4ghz.

After looking at a bunch of < RM3300 TVs, why do I think the picture quality on this TV (60"6800x) is bad, or is it the SHARP video that they are playing is bad? Really interested in it though.
*
if u hv spent enough time checking all the TV's in the shops and found it bad, u should move on and buy something else.
