Anyone tried side loading Ookla's speed test app into the TV?

I think that app was not designed with landscape mode. 

can try using Hal Launcher, an app from tv's play store

u should check at time broadband thread with other users.

Since your router is placed close to the TV.. Just use Ethernet cable instead.. More reliable.. As for the pendrive issue.. Reformat as NTFS and try again.

Hi, anyone can shared the default value in Service Menu setting ? Mine model is 50UA6800X, my kids accidentally launched  the Service Menu and changed some of the setting..

Now the screen seem warm color with noticeable noise in Standard AV mode.

.. takes about 20 mins, all smooth.
.. new UI.
.. netflix, youtube, playstore, etc. auto installed.
.. during installation, a choice of proposed apps incl FB, spotify, kodi, puffin tv/browser, etc.
.. option to place (androidtv approved) app shortcuts on UI.
.. all previously sideloaded apps remain.

Still able to use WiFi 5ghz
I like it able give tv app preview and able to turn off it. example, showing more youtube subscription or hide it totally.

for ua6800x, i think explanation may be due to the android7 units launched here initially did not come with an approved browser (need sideload).
netflix is there, so stick on netflix on the remote!
with android8 uodate, it comes with a proposed puffin tv/browser.

ua6500x, it is not androidtv... but isn't there a default web browser built in?
have u tried restarting android under settings-about?

this is strange.

i haven't exp any of my devices unable to get 5ghz.

the only exception is when distance is too far away, signal too weak, auto falls to 2.4ghz.

unplug the cable, use wifi, see u get 5ghz or not!

Experienced the same like some of you. 5Ghz WIFI out of range. (Prior firmware update can connect with almost full bar).

Apparently there are some issue with this release.

in the mibox (which runs on androidtv as well) thread, some users have complained about the same.

looks like this android8 has its share of bugs.
