ok.

i start to suspect this stock router (i hv one in my drawer, not used since day 2) is the culprit.

i am using asus rtac 1300uhp, no problem with 5ghz for ua6800x 3 ft away with unifi 100mbps.

for older ue6300x, 55ft away, also no problem, can detect 5ghz alto sometimes it's too weak, it falls to 2.4ghz.

The TV used to be able to show in background after you pressed the HOME button with the HOME menu overlay on top of the show that we are watching. Now with this Android 8.0 update, it doesn't do overlay anymore. Is there any setting that can bring that back? Before the update, the TV looks so high tech, now it looks like a SMART TV instead of ANDROID..   

Even es file can’t read my hard disk file.

I have also report to sharp and they will change the board that have previous firmware

I've been going crazy trying to play my movies with VLC.

Super disappointed that it stopped working. Along with the keyboard, i cant type anything anymore and using the phone app doesn't work either.

Can't access display settings or any other advanced setting page anymore either.
Hopefully Sharp fixes the problems with an update quick.

Does anyone know an email or feedback we can all use so we can escalate the problem to sharp?
Btw, anyone know any good apps for watching Hk/china movie/tv shows? preferably easy to use one for my mom

for 6800x users....

the tv's ethernet port is not gigabit, so it's capped at 100mbps.

if u hv higher broadband speed, use wifi.

wifi module can easily get u >200mbps.

then again, what tv apps need that speed..?!

You missed the biggest difference which is 50 al1x has direct backlight vs edge for 50ua6800.  It perhaps will contribute to better picture quality. But strangely only the 50 inch has direct backlight in the new al1x series. All the other sizes is still edge backlight.

Hi guys, I recently got UA6800X but encountered most of the time not able to find my router 5G, 2.4G no issue. Initial setup time can connect to 5G, 1 hour later after TV software update then encounter unable to find 5G.
Other devices able to connect to router 5G.

1. Does this model support 5G? I suppose it does, if not
    initially should not connect.
2. Anyone else have this issue after recent OTA updates
    for this TV?
3. Any recommendations to solve this issue?
