QUOTE(rowlet @ Jan 29 2018, 02:08 PM) IPX is the latest and greatest from apple. in terms of tech, it is way ahead of everything else on the market now. the design is also the best. looks good and feels good. the notch is a bummer though. 8+ is another winner in a different way. the design is already perfected over the years. other than the faceid, all other features are almost similar. larger and heavier. imho 8+ is a more sensible buy. ipx is more like experimental product from apple and they still need another year to perfect it. Ipx wasnt fully developed?

QUOTE(desreg2913 @ Jan 29 2018, 10:26 AM) LOL if budget is concern then go for 8+. the rest no need to compare already. btw 8+ bigger screen then x if screen size matters to u Yeah, thanks for the correction! By the way, just saw a new article on MacRumors about the 2018 iPhones from KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo. Link below. Nothing major for iPhone X (2nd Gen) – 4GB RAM, larger battery (up to 10% improvement). 2018 iPhones

QUOTE(rowlet @ Jan 29 2018, 02:43 PM) compared to other phones out there, it is the most polished design. but iOS seems still lacking the optimization for for fully gestures interface. It was indeed a hasty decision. They having a diff direction on making finished products right now. Being hated in company for so many years might be the reason why Jobs successful in whatever he created, not rush and want a perfected products.

QUOTE(rowlet @ Jan 29 2018, 02:56 PM) not diffrent direction. apple's soul is still there. but who doesn't want to launch a perfect design? jobs had it easier as the benchmark was low when iphone was launched. competitors were 3 - 4 generations behind. furthermore, the gay ceo now couldn't command the respect of the top talents (like jonny ive) and squeeze them to do extraordinary things. So why now they lack 3-4 steps behind when they lead in the first place?

QUOTE(rowlet @ Jan 29 2018, 02:30 PM) yes, not yet a true edge-to-edge design but still the best out there. the notch is a compromise solution because apple needs to launch a new-gen phone already. curved screens from samseng are so dumb. it distorts the display and makes it useless. Agree on the curved screen. I love Android. Still do. Things like lumping notifications together etc. that iOS don't have, widgets and all. Wanted to get Pixel 2 XL but too big and too many issues. Samsung's flagship all curved screens (less usable space plus I need to put SP which curved screen nothing is suitable). End up move back to iOS. Long time Mac user though so now MBP, iPad and iPhone X.

Hi guys, I just got my IpX 2 days ago and I noticed today that my screen feels warmer than my previous i6. I have turn off true tone and night shift, when viewing at other angles then the screen is 'whiter', is this the OLED characteristic people been talking about?

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Jan 29 2018, 11:47 AM) Do you guys turn on airplane mode? Given the phone constantly maintains network and data connections while apps run in the background waiting for data to come in and out, there should not be 0% battery drain during a 8 hour sleep. Previously my 7 Plus and 8 Plus maintains 0% drain during an 8 hour sleep, even with WiFi and 4G on, and even without low power mode. But you're right, the percentage drops kinda fast after your start using it immediately after that, ha ha ha...

Since ip6s , ip7+ and current ip8+ ( till firmware 11.1.1) battery drain overnight 8 hours s zero is common with wifi/lte n background app refresh on. However since 11.2.2 n till now 11.3b my lowest I could get was 2%. It was erractic drain on 11.2.2 ranging from 2 to 6% The very good battery standby I would say is only significant advantage over Androids. Others I am not seriously impressed

Even if the phone is on standby mode, battery usage still occurs as you need power to power the phone through standby and the phone needs to constantly be kept logged on to the celullar network and data. Messages, mails and notifications coming in will also wake the phone. So, there is only one conclusion which is the battery meter is not displaying the actual battery consumption during long standby, either deliberately or not deliberately. You do have a good point there! But than many of iPhone users can confirm zero or close to zero drain on standby. We could be tricked into believing so ??

i always believe iPhone during standby halt the battery movement to close to none.. thus leads to impressive standby time.. because once we used it for a while, it's very fast to drop to around 92-94%.. the 6-8% drops is significantly faster than drops occur when the battery is at 80% (for eg.)

I bet to differ, I think that is just a nocebo effect. I accidentally left my X at home for 5 days before traveling outstation. The battery charge dropped to 43% from a rather full charge. Even then, that is still a pretty impressive standby time.

Guys, previously there was this bug that makes the Calculator type wrong numbers. I remember if you typed too fast, that’s where the problem comes in
Now i am experiencing a similar thing. I key in 3099 and I get 3299 - wtf? Is yours doing the same?

I am using iPhone 8+ with iOS11.1.1, trying to do 1+2+3+4+5 fast, still hang abit and it couldn't capture the correct numbers.
