But looking cool. I see my Samsung user friends, their screen turning on to show them time and notification

Actually what is this AOD all about? Seems like an interesting feature on the new Samsung phones but will it also be introduced to iOS soon?

And from this image I found on Google Search, it lets the clock and date be permanently shown on the screen when the phone is on standby... But won't this drain the battery?

Some OS or anything is designed to have this feature. Yes it drain battery, but very minimal. There is no rumor talking it will be made available for iPhone yet. But maybe in the future, who knows.

it will not kill your battery, but it will kill your screen

Because OLED will suffer from burn in.

AOD is lame/old tech stuff when compared with raise-to-wake.

Is it.. But Note 8 is screen is OLED too, but has APD feature.
Yea bro, the struggle of picking which one is the best is hard. As both phone not operating the same OS

but for me, I will put iPhone first, as I never own any high end android phone as of now.

The AOD moves around the display and will not cause any burn in. It will if it stay put in a fixed position. I had yet to read of anyone having burn in issues on latest Samsung having AOD selected

Yea, it doesn’t make sense, as AOD working well in OLED screen for Samsung phone.
i came from s7 last time. it was kind of cool at first, but after use for a time, i dun think its cool and really useful. yes it can show notification, but u can't click on it and directly open the app. Ended up u still need to wake the screen and unlock it then to open the app.
Also thinking draining of battery life... whats the point i need it as i dun need 24/7 need to view the time, i just want to view it when i want, of course u can set it to display photo also... but will add up drain more battery juice and u actually dun need to keep watching it.
i personally more prefer the iphone way on this method. anyway just personal preference.
