i'm trying to decide between n70me n w810..any opinion guys? i lost my k800 i so now deciding to get a cheaper phone..wat advantage n disadvantage does n70me have against w810 ?i mean besides 3g..the symbian in n70 is quite old so can i still install new application?is there any special which might lure me to buy symbian?

well the N70ME IS still running on the old S60 DP2, which means you can't install applications specifically made for S60 DP3 machines.. but do not fret! there are HUGE libraries of application's that will amaze you. heck, there are even some app's which you do not need! but i still install them, just for fun.

but if you're the kind of user who just makes calls, sms and listens to music, snaps some photograps, then the W810i would be the phone for you.

now im thinking to change my SE w550 to the new one....

i have 2 choice....Nokia N73 or Samsung U600

actually these what i need:-

1-big screen.

2-must have radio

3-long lasting battery

4-headphone provided can plug any 3.5mm jack earphone like SE walkman phone...like in-ear type earpiece rather than conventional earpiece(it's hurt!)...

I was thinking buy SE K750 or SE K550, it look like no much different so which 1 should i go for it..
between is any nokia phone with in this price range and functionality?

hey guys, im looking to find a phone that could take some decent pics maybe vids and lil mp3 playing capabilities.

k800 a good buy now ? or should a wait awhile more till it reaches my max budget of rm1000.

I'm planning to buy a new phone in 2 month from now.

I want a sliding or flip phone.

The brand does not matter but the smaller the size of the phone, the better.

I prefer to have 3g but it does not really matter to me.. if dont have, its still ok.

My budget is RM900 - RM1300.

What would you recommend for me to get?

well they both have almost the same features and specs but if you want a phone with a more friendly UI, get the Nokia.. Samsung's UI is not as friendly but if you don't mind it then it's not so bad.. at the cost of batt life. on moderate usage, the N73 will last for only 2 days.

another thing is availability. i have yet to seen any U600 for sale. or is it just me?

furthermore, the Nokia's headset, the optional AD-41 (which comes with the ME version BTW), allows you to plug on your own headphones..


i would personally recommend the K750i. it has a better camera module and a keypad wich is bigger than the K550i..

well, if you don't mind waiting then get it now. but one things for sure, the longer you wait, the lower the price is gonna get. so it actually depends on how bad you want the phone.


if you really can't go past RM1000 then the next choice would be the W810i.

well there's the Sony Ericsson Z610i for style and the Nokia 7390 for it's 3.2mp autofocusing camera..

I'm not interested in SE Z610i (too shiny). The nokia 7390 function wise it seems nice but the looks is kind of plain and too bad its not symbian, but s40 is still ok though.

Any other suggestion? a slider? I'll put nokia 7390 on top of my list for now.

thanks to all the suggestion..hmm, seems like a lot suggestions for K750i..how come nobody suggest 5300? kind of like the phone after watch my friend's 5300 the other day

because the 5300 only has an average camera..only 1.3MP compared 2 k750i's 2MP...

its all bout personal preference though...try out both of them and buy the 1 that u like

with all those specs you want the N73ME would suit you or perhaps the W850i/W880i?

i'd go for the k750i anytime.the k550i's picture quality isint up to par with the Cybershot branding.however if you want a newer phone then by all means get the k550i.

yeah i suggest you wait for the k810i to reach our shores.then maybe the price of k800i will drop to below rm1k.since its like rm1.1k+ now for an ap set

its because the k750i is a legendary phone. at more so now because its priced below rm600 for an ap set.at that price there's no other phone that can beat the imaging capabilities of the k750i

i rather like the 5300 also.just that the camera is an average one.1.3mp only.but if you like sliders and dont really bother about the camera and want a music phone the 5300 is a good choice nevertheless.other good music phones would be the w810i

hmm.. another phone that comes to my mind is the Samsung D900, Samsung E900 and the LG Chocolate KG800..


because the K750i's camera easily beats the 5300's..

er whats the diffrence between midland sets and ap sets ?

i noticed also that K750i beat 5300 for the camera features but I don't really bother about the camera..more concern about the quality of the mp3 player provided..and I think 5300 looks nicer than K750i :-)

Now the best time is to wait for W660 if really want gd quality mp3 player.
W660->everything have but dont have flash and autofocus only.
Don't go for the Red one because its way to femine for a guy to carry that.
W880 -> no radio , autofocus.
W850 ->bluetooth dont have A2DP ,autofocus
W810 ->Dont have 3G, cannot blame dont have A2DP because its consider old. But the rest really beats W880 and W850.

W850i might suit u .. its style quite nice ..

althought almost everyone recommends k750 for its reasonable price and superb camera , but i doubt the first patch of k750 can be found easily . nowadays new k750 camera module sux . so future buyer pls consider bout this.

Why not you guys consider Nokia 6300?
It's a wonderful phone with 2.0MP camera.
The only disadvantage is don't have 3G only....
Some more with nice design.

Actually i own a SE 3G phone K610i and found out that 3G is not really common so maybe we only need it a few years later when every phone have a 3G...

I'm really disappointed by SE nowadays...
Their software is just like bull****.
Just a few days ago, after i transfer my file into my phone using usb, i can't access my games and application at all!!Keep telling operation failed...
Do anything won't help...Now repair will cost me RM40+.

I wonder, will Nokia facing this problem?

I will go for Nokia which i was using all the way before....
I just change to se a few months ago to test whether it's good or not.

consider w810i oso,real bang for ur buck...6233 is also a great buy...wouldn't recommend 5300's camera though

I'm still thinking whether I should get the Samsung D900 or not. The only thing that is stopping me is the design which reminds me of a baseball bat when it is slide open.

W850i was my primary target until recently I've been using my sister's W850i. I don't want to have the same phone as hers.

Is Motorola V6 Maxx or Samsung Z560 any good? or is there any better phone?

just so you know,the k750i's audio quality is on par with it's Walkman sibling,the W800i

the good thing that you get with the 5300 is its bigger screen,EDGE,slider form factor and hardware music keys.

if you want a great camera and music phone within rm900 the W810i suits you best.has a 2MP cam with AF and also is a Walkman phone.has radio too of course.

hope the sifus here can give me some recommendation

3. Specs : 3G, at least 2mp and above cam with flash
4. Design: Doesnt matter whether its slide, clamshell or candybar, jus not too thick and bulky will do

3g, good camera (best 3.2mp), way slimmer than k800i. as for price? shud be ard rm1.9k but lets hope it is lower.

ehy the link u provided isn't working. So far most of the site i check display the bluetooth as 2.0 only without A2DP. Besides , i think theres i countless of girls and guys using w850 already -.-.

w850i supports a2dp.

You can always insatll a java app to enable your phone to use a2dp.

there's many choices.the N73ME,N80i,k800i,k810i[coming soon].

its around rm800+ now for an ap set

get the k800i if you want a great camera phone that can take good night shots.

get the n80 if you want/need WiFi in your phone.

get the n73 for a balance of good camera quality and the ability to install many useful apps.

if you can wait for the k810i then by all means get that.no doubt it will push the price of k800i down a little.and about the joystick,SE has already improved on it since the k700i.its now more durable and if you treat it with care it wont break down that easily.

Going for very low budget prices would only restrict to AP models.
All phone is overall and have their own unique features.
All depends on whether u want good camera/music experiences(u cant aim for both). For good walkman phone i think so far SE is still the best. Nokia is overall only. Cant compare Nokia with SE because Sony is famous for their sound system.

Personally i would go for K800i... just bcoz better camera during night-time like birthday parties and disco... n73 lacks a proper flash even though the LED is rather bright. the N-Series can also be a little problematic when u have loads of apps installed... especially the N80. Remember, those Symbian apps can slow-down your phone...

is that so???i tot A2DP is hardware based???

it is but IIANM some software could make the phone transmit out stereo sound..

i've heard about MSI's BluePlayer.. some users reported that after installing this software, they are able to use their A2DP headsets to listen to stereo songs.. however, you are only limited to MSI's A2DP headsets..

K810i is practically the same phone as K800i. Not much add on features though.

it depends lo.. if you can wait for the K810i's release before you get the K800i, then wait. the K800i's price will drop then. but if you can't wait, get it now. prices are not bad.

well if you don't really need Symbian then the K800i would suffice already, it supports Java and if you aren't the kind of person who always installs stuff, then it should be enough.

about the joystick, you'll have to be extra careful and really take care of it well.. it'll last that way.. and as for the speaker loudness, i'd have to say that it isn't very loud.. so yeah..

n70 better or k610i better or any other reccomendation ? plan to get 1 soon similar to function like these two model .... gt 3g, mp3, good camera ...

well they both have almost the same specs.. so the choice is up to you..

if you love to install application's on your phone, then get the N70.. it's Symbian software will amze you with it's expandability, though installing too much will cause you to experience laggyness on your phone..

but if you prefer a no-frills, simple and easy to use, classy looking phone, then get the K610i.

of cos n70...can be flash 2 me edition if u wan 2 for beter music quality....but wil lag....k610 not a bad phone though.....budget 3g phone...

imho wait for the k810i to be available here.then only get the k800i after the price drops might be even able to get it for below rm1k.

Go for the N70 if you like symbian phones.the bad thing about the k610i is that the camera does not have flash.so taking night shots will be abit problematic.but overall its a nice affordable 3G phone.

both does not support expandable external memory cards..

shykull, try the Sony Ericsson Z530i. that's the only phone for around RM500 that i can think of which has an external memory card slot, is a clamshell phone and has a 1.3mp camera..

ok..how about nokia 6085?camera vga only but suport memory card...

SE Z530i. a bit off rm500 comes with external memory card.

the only nokia thats around rm700 and is a slider is the 5300. other good choices but not slider phones would be the k750i.great 2mp camera.

hmm.. is the Sony Ericsson K750i considered "big"?

if the size is ok, then it's a helluva great deal..


IIANM they are yet to be released in the Malaysian merket..

the N91 can be considered too but since you said "small", i've removed it from the list.. also not forgetting the E65, but it's 2mp camera is inferior to the N80's 3.15mp camera.. N93/N93i? nah.. too bulky and only if you need DVD-quality recording's..

either the nokia 5300 Xpress Music or the older yet legendary k750i

If you dont mind the price of the E65,the camera[3mp vs 2mp],and no secondary camera for video call then get the E65.

a few things that might be a problem to you if you get the N80.
-the battery life is bad.
-the slider is a little loose.

that would be the bad points about the N80.i should know since im using it now and so far those 2 problems are the only problems to me.

well if you have the budget for N95,by all means get that.since it has everything the N80 and E65 has plus more

then ur set is ap set or ori set??the sliding isue,if fix.expensive or not??

no problem..

try reading pengster's post, he has an N80i and can tell you more about the pro's and con's of the phone..

then you'd rather be better off with the N95.. it's 5mp would be more than enough for shots and the in-nuilt GPS service would be a plus..

well the only SE phone that i can think of with Wi-Fi at the current time being would be the Sonyt Ericsson P990i. but thats kinda big, dontcha think?




would it make a difference? IIANM most, if not all N80's have the same issue. i wouldn't call it a problem, it's just sliggghtly loose, that's all..

mine's an AP set.you cant send it to a service center to fix this sliding problem.its normal in all N80s.anyway its a very minor problem.only when the phone is closed you can move the upper part slightly to the left/right.not sure how to explain to you

anyway there's a DIY method to fix that issue.head on down to the N80 official thread and check out the 1st post.

well if you're looking at specs then the N80 is king here.. it has the best camera and it also has WiFi..

but if you're a pure, hardcore music listener, the W850i ain't bad too..
