well the N70ME IS still running on the old S60 DP2, which means you can't install applications specifically made for S60 DP3 machines.. but do not fret! there are HUGE libraries of application's that will amaze you. heck, there are even some app's which you do not need! but i still install them, just for fun.

but if you're the kind of user who just makes calls, sms and listens to music, snaps some photograps, then the W810i would be the phone for you.

great features. simple-to-use.

well they both have almost the same features and specs but if you want a phone with a more friendly UI, get the Nokia.. Samsung's UI is not as friendly but if you don't mind it then it's not so bad.. at the cost of batt life. on moderate usage, the N73 will last for only 2 days.

another thing is availability. i have yet to seen any U600 for sale. or is it just me?

furthermore, the Nokia's headset, the optional AD-41 (which comes with the ME version BTW), allows you to plug on your own headphones..


i would personally recommend the K750i. it has a better camera module and a keypad wich is bigger than the K550i..

well, if you don't mind waiting then get it now. but one things for sure, the longer you wait, the lower the price is gonna get. so it actually depends on how bad you want the phone.


if you really can't go past RM1000 then the next choice would be the W810i.

well there's the Sony Ericsson Z610i for style and the Nokia 7390 for it's 3.2mp autofocusing camera..

hmm.. another phone that comes to my mind is the Samsung D900, Samsung E900 and the LG Chocolate KG800..


because the K750i's camera easily beats the 5300's..

it is but IIANM some software could make the phone transmit out stereo sound..

i've heard about MSI's BluePlayer.. some users reported that after installing this software, they are able to use their A2DP headsets to listen to stereo songs.. however, you are only limited to MSI's A2DP headsets..

it depends lo.. if you can wait for the K810i's release before you get the K800i, then wait. the K800i's price will drop then. but if you can't wait, get it now. prices are not bad.

well if you don't really need Symbian then the K800i would suffice already, it supports Java and if you aren't the kind of person who always installs stuff, then it should be enough.

about the joystick, you'll have to be extra careful and really take care of it well.. it'll last that way.. and as for the speaker loudness, i'd have to say that it isn't very loud.. so yeah..

but if you prefer a no-frills, simple and easy to use, classy looking phone, then get the K610i.

shykull, try the Sony Ericsson Z530i. that's the only phone for around RM500 that i can think of which has an external memory card slot, is a clamshell phone and has a 1.3mp camera..

hmm.. is the Sony Ericsson K750i considered "big"?

if the size is ok, then it's a helluva great deal..

the N91 can be considered too but since you said "small", i've removed it from the list.. also not forgetting the E65, but it's 2mp camera is inferior to the N80's 3.15mp camera.. N93/N93i? nah.. too bulky and only if you need DVD-quality recording's..

try reading pengster's post, he has an N80i and can tell you more about the pro's and con's of the phone..

then you'd rather be better off with the N95.. it's 5mp would be more than enough for shots and the in-nuilt GPS service would be a plus..

well the only SE phone that i can think of with Wi-Fi at the current time being would be the Sonyt Ericsson P990i. but thats kinda big, dontcha think?

well if you're looking at specs then the N80 is king here.. it has the best camera and it also has WiFi..

but if you're a pure, hardcore music listener, the W850i ain't bad too..

well it's a Symbian phone.. so yeah.. it actually depends on the user.. if you do not jam pack the phone with songs/pictures/applications and do not run multiple apps to run in the background, the lag will not be noticable after some time of usage..

the RAZR Maxx.. go for it for it's looks.. but it's not that bad of a phone either, 3G, 2mp camera, V2.0 bluetooth w/A2DP, 256k 240*320 pixel screnn..

let me put it this way.. if you were to compare both phones..

the N80 would be for it's specs and the RAZR Maxx for it's style..

but do bear in mind.. not everyone surfs the net using their phone.. and imagine, the charges.. you'd be better off surfing the net for free on broadband speeds through Wi-Fi..

AFAIK, only maxis provides HSDPA service at the current time being.. or am i wrong?

if you have a strict budget <RM1000, then choices for you would be the Sony Ericsson Z610i/K610i/K618i.. for Nokia, there's the 6280, 6288, 6680 and the N70..


clamshell? clamshell wise, it'll be the Nokia 7390 and the Sony Ericsson Z610i. however, if you opt for sliders and candybar's, your choices would increase.. there's the Nokia N80 and the Samsung D900 for the slider's and the NOkia N73 and Sony Ericsson K800i for the candybar's..




i don't think so as the 5700 isn't the 5300's replacement. however, it should go down slightly..


well, the 7390 does have a 3mp auto-focusing camera with flash..

it's a simple A or B question in your case.

A : Sony Ericsson if you don't need Symbian and want thebest 3.2mp phone..
B : Nokia N73 if you need Symbian's expandability and productivity. it's camera is only second best when compared to the K800i. also, consider this if you are an avid music listener..

okay.. now for your recommendation. i would have to second what adrianzz suggested, which is the Sony Ericsson W810i. since you said you need a good camera and good Walkman capabilities, there are onyl 2 choices, mainly the W810i and the W610i. i would go against the W610i because firstly, it does not have 3G. and secondly, it's keypad is small, which makes fast and heavy sms a burden. and also if i am not mistaken, it's camera module isn't as good as the one found in the W810i. so the W810i the choice for you.

well if you're aiming for a Sony Ericsson then there's plenty of choices for you.

Sony Ericsson Z610i/K610i/K618i/W610i/W810i.. or you can top up slightly and get the K800i..

well, brand is not the issue here. what's more important is your needs. what do you usually use the phone for?
