Not necessarily.

If the fare really at RM 120, we have to look at other examples...

Bus option is RM 50, but takes 8 hours.

Airline, fare itself can be more than RM 120 one way, if book last minute, but then KLIA 2 is very far from the city.

So, electric train, which takes 4 hours from Gombak to KB at RM 120 is pretty competitive.
*
If I using a car for example Myvi 1.3 (17km/L) , petrol price at RM2.3/L is equal to RM0.13/km.

Look like the train is running more expensive.

normally it take me about 4 hour to drive from KL to KB through Gua Musang. Toll around rm10, gas rm80, divide by 4 still the cheapest way to go

On first glance RM120 looks a bit pricey, especially for Kelantan people with lower average income. But if you consider the fact that:
> It's distance is 600km+.
> It will cut road traveling time nearly by half to 4 hours.

Then I would say this is a fair price.
I don't know about you guys but if I'm from Kelantan I'll take this train anytime.

will not appeal to kelantanese

only those who travel alone can afford it

imagine family of 2 adults and 2 kids, will cost you a leg

might as well just drive back

4 hours and 7 hours not that much different anyway

better just build a proper 2 lanes highway which benefit more people

driving kl-kb it would take roughtly 8-9 hours on casual driving. do not believe what google map say. 8 hour drive, u need to stop to pee, eat and so on.
those who make it in 6 hours either bluffing or driving macam babi.
*
8-9 hours is too long. unless u drive in daylight. Even normal drive also max at 6hours ikut gua musang.

i normally go out at 4am and by 8am already at nasi kerabu ketereh eat breafast.

But the question is how much is the ridership from KL to Terengganu?

Can RM120 recover the investment spend? Is it politically motivated just for the erection? jeng jeng jeng... biggrin.gif

Speed VS Time
Because mostly Raya / Holiday season will be very jam packed on karak highway. Time consuming alot.

Want speed sure have to pay more.

Cost of ETS platinum today from Sentral to Padang Besar is RM102.

Considering how much lower the ridership will be to east coast, RM120 from Gombak to KB seems optimistic.
