Even if highway is built and reaches Kelantan, it cannot cope with festive season traffic, and air travel can be very expensive during festive season.

An eight-car train as proposed for ECRL can carry 600 passengers, equal to four A320 jets.

It's not just Kelantan will benefit, but all other towns along the route too.

Bentong will be economically closer to Klang Valley too.

whats the steepest gradient for these trains crossing the banjaran area?

Bus option is RM 50, but takes 8 hours.

So, electric train, which takes[ B] 4 hours from Gombak to KB[/B] at RM 120 is pretty competitive.

so 4 hours from Gombak to KB is the target?

While RM120 sounds expensive than bus ticket, it is however a lot faster and arguably safer than drive own car/naik bas during festive season and flood season

120 end to end?

Sounds pretty cheap, especially with no traffic jams.

If it can be less than RM100 it would be great.

Bus is about RM50+- but twice as long.

Oh yes.. One reason why ecrl is expensive is they will build elevated railways in flood prone areas.. So there will be less disruptions due to flood esp in low plains of east coast

This is a modern type of trains, first very comfortable, fast, smooth and much more safe. There's also a cafeteria inside. Much more a better way to travel than bus or cars. Our roads are too dangerous, trains much more safe.

Bus is cheaper and better for family on total cost.

On the other hand, train definitely compete against flights and since KBR airport traffic reaches 2 million pax per annum, it will be a good addition.
