FaceID worked fine even while I was wearing winter clothing the last 9 days I was in Beijing.
It failed only when my lips were covered. |

QUOTE(Blakey @ Dec 12 2017, 04:02 PM) I think I've seen some comments about this screen protector collecting dust right above the circled area (but not too sure). In any case, just gonna bring this up to see if any of you guys are facing this with the Hoda protector and will this affect the call quality (can't hear clearly, volumes goes high and low during a call). Thanks for any reply! use a small brush and push dust outAttached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Blakey @ Dec 13 2017, 12:48 PM) the dust covers the proximity sensor, normally during calls, when you place your phone to your ear, the screen will black out.too much dust will cos the screen to black out and you cant end call cos the phone still thinks its on your face |

Nope, not possible.FaceID is running on array of sensors to sense depth aka 3D scanning & with IR sensors to boot. Unless you are saying that your phone screen can miraculously projects 3D & emits IR, that’s something else. |

QUOTE(sonic_sphere @ Dec 13 2017, 01:49 AM) Looks like u also not recommended the X model... and yeah, how we are going to adapt the thing that not suitable for us, even after using it for few weeks/months... hmm im neutral, if u got the extra cash to spend, then yes its a good move to go to the X, if budget is an issue, then can stayput with 7plus and wait for the next X (bigger) |
