I check back Mi Singapore's Facebook page, didn't see any Redmi 5 / 5 Plus phone? They launching other model?

If for me, I will unlock first and wait for the ROM because you never know what will happen later.

last time i did no need request unlock from Mi

Can only stick with Chinese rom, so far no issue for me.
What is global rom can do for Chinese rom also doing the same.

Except to using with stock browser due to all Chinese without Google search engine.

I prefer Snapdragon processor compared to others.... huge of roms available......

look at huawei honor 8....haha.... 1 year +++ phone cant update to oreo d..... I won't buy huuwe nowadaysi due to poor support & cheat consumers...... selling premium price with poor parts .... if lower their price might consider it....

look at P10 compared to mi6.... mi6 with UFS better display , chrome + glass back the cost is higher compared to p10 which using EMMC + without antifingerprint coated.... if sell murah sure people wont bising...but they selling premium price really

Huawei same as apple iphone.
After 2 years of usage can retired already, battery and lag all the times.

My colleague he is Huawei support.. I saw him each 2 years change new Huawei phone, the previous one very laggy already.

Maybe what I thought was too simple, and looks like they are not simply using China ROM and "edit" them to convert to Global ROM (such as add in Google services, add languages, remove China only stuffs...) Can't imagine there are a lot of works behind updating a ROM.

Could it be that China ROM have a lot of monitoring and tracking "functions" that have to remove for Global ROM?

But this make me feels like China vs. Global ROM should have a lot of difference, not only Google service and language translation etc... Otherwise, why took them so long to release a Global ROM?

They will only release global rom when their device launch in country outaide of china. It's not difficult to integrate google services.

When I read "...the smartphone for everyone"+ "king" , it remind me of the contest by Mi Malaysia recently which make me already can guess what is it 😇

For me i just want global for the sake of removing those not-uninstallable chinese apps that i dont use anyway. Language and google apps no longer a problem.
