RM 300 for F3...nah...no thanks

Wayyy to pricey for a collector's edition. The content doesn't justify its astronomical cost.

If it was priced at around RM 179, that would be reasonable...but not anything above that value.

no doubt a solid game on its own merit but destined to be a god awfully crap Fallout installment (only mods can save this game from the fiery depths of hell...)

I doubt mods will do much good, unless we can somehow change the entire F3 gameplay.

Although I'm a big fan of F1 and F2, I'm not really against Bathesda. You can't expect a studio that develops totally different games to "stick" to the gameplay Black Isle developed. I mean, sure it's gonna be different from F1 and 2 from most aspects but at least It's going to be good in it's on way.

who said it was going to be good on its own? compared to oblivion, yes. by 25% improvement i'd say. if they really want it to be a game that's good on its own, why bother buying fallout IP. shesh, they should at least develop a game that does not suck as$.

and "oh, we only develop FPS-RPG" argument cannot be used as an excuse for being lousy.

ya, ya .. i know, FO3 is nearing it release date and ultimately Beth is a corporate entity after all. but yawning my frustration in here, somewhat relief me

Mods wouldn't do much but at least it would iron out some of the quirks in the game. Who knows, perhaps someone talented would be able to whip up a pseudo isometric perspective with a proper VATS implementation. The VATS in vanilla F3 is severely crippled.

Yes, F3 would be an improvement over Oblivion but to what extend...I honestly do not know. If it's not called F3 and it was called something else, I wouldn't have criticized it that much and that would have been a better outcome for the fans and Bethesda. Still, I would have preferred them to focus on the Elder Scrolls series instead.

Best thing to do is wait till the game is released and play it for ourselves to find out. You'll never know, might turn out to be another "Daniel Craig is not James Bond" or "Bayformers raped my childhood" that turned out otherwise scenarios.

Game should only be reviewed when they are played not imagined.
Bias reviewers (hate the game) will start the rating from 0. (add when found something worthwhile)
Bias reviewers (love the game) will start rating from 100 (deduct when something is broken)
Neutral reviewer will start at 50.
Why criticise something when you have not even try it yet (who know got extra surprises in store)

I agree.

Personally I couldn't give a toss about all of the flack FO3 is getting.

I have fond memories of FO1/2, but I'm going to treat this as a game that just happens to be in a post apocalyptic environment and judge it on it's own merit.

I am cringing at the thought of having the repetitive Oblivion voice actors in the game, I hope their levelling mechanics make sense this time, I hope they don't break the story continuity with their sandbox world, I'm hoping that VATs is a balanced tool and not overpowering, I'm hoping the battles don't turn into something from Doom or Painkiller. I'm hopeful they didn't screw the pooch on this one.

Since this is supposedly a smaller world, they may have spent more time crafting it. Oblivion while great when you started stopped being fun once you realised how sloppy some aspects of the game design were. Too many things were broken, unpolished, or just didn't make sense.

Mutants Rising (http://mutantsrising.com/news.html) looks like it might be a spiritual successor to FO2; that's great and I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's done. Kudos to them for actually creating their own game instead of just b****ing about Beth ruining the FO series.

Alarm clock only included in the survival edition. I doubt anyone would be bringing it in to Malaysia and even if they do, it's gonna burn a hole in your pocket.

see, so how do you explain 9.5/10 from supposedly professional reviewer when what they tried upon is just a preview version?why praise something that you have not even try fully yet?

and who said anything about imagining things in fallout3? luckily i managed to snip some walkthru before Beth ask YouTube to remove the leaked video.

True. Just downloaded some HD footage from Gametrailers and I'm definitely interested in deciding for myself if it's any good or not.

actually, the whole idea of teaser videos and gameplay videos is to let you gauge the game so that you'll be making an informed decision when playing the game. So far, the action part of the game is horrible. Horrible voice acting, amateurish animation and horrible immersion. That's what ANYBODY can get from the videos without playing the game at all.

You don't have to jump off a skyscraper to know how falling feels like, my friend.

I'll have to agree the NPC's voiceacting and animation is horrible. Gameplay looks okay though.

Another flaw worth pointing out is that enemy AI do not take cover during firefights. In the trench warfare video as well as the BOS video, the supermutants were totally exposed. It seemed as though they were eager to get slaughtered by the pc out in the open. Hmmm, I guess Bethesda didn't incorporate the "Radiant AI" this time brows.gif

And yes, we get to see the nuke launcher in all its glory...woohoo

I wonder why the super mutants in the videos were using small arms? Aren't they supposed to be blasting away at puny humans with Avenger miniguns or rocket launchers given their colossal size. I also think that the BOS shoulder armor is kinda goofy and fake. Looks like it's made outta cardboard instead of pure steel. As for the Enclave Power Armor doh.gif nevermind...

It seems the Fatman (nuke catapult) can be used at a ridiculously close range. I don't know about anyone here, but when a mini nuke goes off, I would probably be at least half a mile clear of the blast radius and not a few metres as exhibited by the BOS video.

bwahaha .. let's us skip all review. hey, that new Nokia looks fine, maybe i should buy one regardless about all those problem people been bitc*ing about.

seriously, if you going to buy the game anyway (or download), just skip this thread or read the first page only. or join the discussion. i must admit that there are element that is nice in that mediocre game.

on a more serious note, yeah, that power armor do looks like some Japanese samurai armor..and forget about Radiant AI, they implanted new Radiot AI + Psychic Detection System.
