Haven't got the game yet. Can we play Fallout 3 online?
We can group up and nuke some mutants.

No online mode unfortunately.

I finished Daggerfall, Morrowind, Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Jagged Alliance, X-Com myself. Yes, Fallout 3 is a very very good game laugh.gif

Back to the game, I discovered something hilarious. If you ever been to Big Town, you will get a mission to rescue two guys from mutants and then teach the village how to survive. The funny thing is, if you gave the two guys grenades earlier, they will accidentally grenade the whole village to death during the small guns training.

So you're telling me you didn't realize the level of retarded-ness in the writing and dialogue, not to mention the completely anticlimatic main quest? I'm playing FO3 not because I love it (I hate it in fact), but rather because I have an OCD that tells me to visit every area in a game and exploit everything before I'm satisfied.

BTW I have to complain about the companions. In FO1, Ian shoots you in the back. In FO2, Marcus does the same too. But hell, in FO3, Beth completely ups the ante on the sheer brainlessness of their AI. When you jump off the road, your companion instead of following you will take a HUGE detour around the "obstacles" to arrive at where you are. They refuse to take shortcuts - like their knees are fused together with their tights or something. Pure retardedness. And also, my RL-3 charged into combat RIGHT into the center of 5 BURNING cars, and a minute later got blow skyhigh when the whole freaking car park went up in a mushroom cloud.

FO3 an improvement to the series? My arse.

killed one in evergreen mills with a dartgun and then a minigun burst, killed the second in capitol by sniping it from a narrow alley. Piece of cake. They'd be fun if they were carrying guns of some sort. They're too easy compared to dclaws.

--waaaaa that great... fallout 3 dont have linear story line? i like that kind of gameplay.... yezaa i must buy this game.... thx dude....
*
My ass. Fallout 3 is as un-linear as a monorail. The main quest is a disgrace. The only "non" linear part is in the middle of the quest where there are ways you can skip ahead. But after that, it's choo choo train time and the ending is as logic as a cow growing wings.

And there are still some forum members here who insisted that the reason old fallout fans hate the new game is because we want an isometric turn based engine using low resolution graphics.

QUOTE(Enclave Recruit @ Nov 10 2008, 08:44 PM)
Anyone here has Star Paladin Cross as a party member? My god, she's freaking tough. She was still standing after going up against a dozen super mutants and Talos Mercs near the DC ruins while I was hastily taking stimpaks just to keep my sorry ass alive. She was swinging her super sledgehammer against super mutant masters and brutes and even got hit by 3 missiles and still managed to stay alive without any stimpaks in her inventory, +100 for the audacity and hardiness thumbup.gif

She also makes a good pack mule. I literally spam her inventory with junk.
*
Tell that to RL-2. f***ing idiot doesn't follow me when I jumped off the road across a foot tall rubble and instead decided to take the detour that would take it face to face with an enclave patrol and super mutants... which was WHY i took the shortcut in the first place!!! f***ing stupid AI.

QUOTE(Enclave Recruit @ Nov 10 2008, 09:47 PM)
Yeah, apparently the AI has some issues with jumping. They like taking detours which is annoying. Another thing I noticed was that Star Paladin Cross likes to pick up the weapons of fallen enemies and either use them or keep them (I was surprised to see Cross using a minigun since I didn't give her one). Do RL-2 pick up the weapons of fallen opponents as well?

Here's a screenshot of me and Cross in Minefield. I gave her an Enclave Power Helmet for safe keeping and she happily equipped it instead. LOL. Looks kinda goofy on her though...

P/S - My GOD!!! What have they done to Harold??? Haven't met him btw hehe. I'm too busy exploring the wasteland...
*
RL-2 doesn't know what picking up weapons mean. It has a flamer and a plasma rifle, so I'm not worried about it. It just needs to realize what burning cars mean. Maybe there was some miscommunication between Todd and the AI team because in the wastelands, while enemies run away from burning cars, my RL-2 happily runs into it.

Another glitch. laugh.gif

I suggest you think carefully before calling people morons mad.gif
even if you didn't want a "isometric turn based engine using low resolution graphics." you would have still preferred fallout 3 to be a "isometric turn based engine using next gen graphics."

Btw, tweak guide for fallout 3 is out, do check it out

And where were you when Oblivion fans called the old fallout fans as rabid dogs? I don't see you lecturing them on thinking twice before calling other people names. smile.gif

Nobody said Beth couldn't take Fallout 3 into a FPS realm. It's a pain to change the core mechanics but that wasn't what made the original fallouts shine. The entire discontent of the community with Beth is in its childish handling of the franchise, with 10 year old writing and nonsensical plot. And I can't believe this is my 50th time repeating this but somehow Beth ass-lickers still can't get the point.

Their strawman is too precious for them to give up beating upon, you know.

I got more glitches laugh.gif laugh.gif posting up screenshot soon...

For those saying that FPS is the only way to go for immershun, check out Fable 2. I'd rather they did Fabel 2 + Guns than Oblivion + Guns, frankly speaking.

Walk forwards, open the play pen door, and then crawl to the box of toys to your left. Next to the box is a SPECIAL book. Press E to read it, and to assign your stats. Then wait for your dada to come.

Congratulations! You just caught the EARLIEST bug ever in Fallout 3! All hail fallout 3 - the king of buggy games of the century.

Now all you need to do is to start a new game and hope it doesn't happen again.

QUOTE(luyut @ Nov 11 2008, 02:45 AM)
"March 31, 2005 (Rockville, MD) -- Bethesda Softworks® is pleased to announce that we have hired the talents of Obsidian Entertainment® to develop and design a Fallout® sequel. The return of this exceptional series is aimed at the core fans of Fallout®, because the company are confident that the game's appeal will extend to a much broader audience. "In this day when good role-playing games are rare, our releases of Fallout 3® and Fallout 4® promise to deliver what gamers have been yearning to play for ages", said Todd Howard, Bethesda®'s Executive Producer. "While we wanted to make Fallout 3® our own game, we thought that the previous, cancelled attempt at it was a great idea, so we're finally giving the Obsidian® team a chance to finish it."

Howard continued, "As fellow gamers and fans of the Fallout series, we are fortunate to have the talents of the original developers of Fallout and Fallout 2 creating a worthy sequel to Fallout and we are confident that Obsidian Entertainment will deliver a game that will be remembered for years to come."

The sequel to Fallout 3, previously codenamed "Van Buren" during its development at Interplay Entertainment® is to resume development at Obsidian Entertainment under the currently given title of "Fallout 4", which may be subject to change. The game is to be produced by Bethesda Softworks LLC (www.bethsoft.com), a Zenimax Media (www.zenimax.com) company."
found this on the net...LOL

Biggest pile of brahmin dung of the century. They must've hired the coffee lady and janitor from Obsidian because nothing in Fallout 3 has anything to do with the brilliance of its predecessors.

The only thing they need to do is to fire the whole animation team, the writing team, Todd Howard and Pete Hines. Also, fire the person responsible for organizing and choreographing the voice acting team.

You will find him outside Rivet city being hunted down by Mercs and Raiders. Kill them all, and then talk to him and he'll beg you to take him back to Rivet city. Which is funny considering he is effectively immortal and Rivet city is JUST RIGHT BESIDE him.
