QUOTE(Edison83 @ Nov 3 2008, 08:34 PM) game journalists write good and bad thing about a game not just bad thing. Its just like a bunch of complainer than a game journalists. =.= Right, and the game journalists who gave raving reviews to Fallout 3 with the plethora of bugs and horrible dialogues are journalists too huh? If you got a problem with honesty, you got a problem with life, and that's not my problem.Added on November 3, 2008, 8:37 pm Thats the reason theres a trailer and games review on magazine, if u read it and feel sucks, then just forget about it and go on with other game. The game already release, so keep complaing wont change a thing. The same can be said to you my friend. If you got a problem with reading our negative comments (hey, I did praise the atmosphere, didn't I?), you can don't read what. You tak suka, jangan baca. Not like we paksa you to read right? |

QUOTE(MYNAMEISJASON @ Nov 3 2008, 09:59 PM) Its not hard to not read your complains when half of this thread is filled with posts like that Funny. All of my posts are constructive. "Hire a better writer", "hire a better animation director", "fire Todd Howard". Or should I start licking Beth's balls and pretend that I like the elements when they are horrible? Oh well, say good things about the game, and nobody cares. Say bad stuff about it and you're a whiner. No wonder gaming journalists nowadays have no balls to write unbiased reviews. Why not something more constructive and stop these complains BTW, any of you here encounter frequent crashes when in VATS mode? I crashed in VATS mode 70% of the time. Added on November 3, 2008, 10:19 pm QUOTE(Darkstalker @ Nov 3 2008, 10:05 PM) Question for the people playing. Someone on a private forum posted this in his experience of the game. One question. Should i max out small arms or big guns? Seems like big guns have all the fun in this game."VATS is only semi-useful when you don't have a shotgun, since it's not exactly easy to get a headshot against a ghoul or a dog. And the only type of damage that counts is a headshot, everything else is a waste of ammo. Once you max out small guns (level 4 or so if you're doing it right), shots pretty much land where you're aiming and VATS becomes trivial. I've used it a grand total of 3 times in 6 hours of playtime. So it depends. If you absolutely suck at first person shooters or don't max out a weapon skill (which is a mistake considering how much combat there is in this game), then VATS is useful." Accurate? One thing about FO3, in the early game, forget about Perception, Strength and Charisma. Pump all your points to Intelligence and Agility (I started with both 8), and for the first 3 levels, choose the perk that gives you extra experience (10% per level). After that, I chose 2 levels of extra points to my stats (added to Agility), and I practically am swinging through combats now and levelling like crazy. Good tip for those starting out.

My my brother, calm down. I realized that the only way to "enjoy" fallout 3 is to play like a retard. Not just Fallout fans b****, even Star Trek fans are fed-up with Bethesda's work Do I find Fallout 3 enjoyable? Yes on some point. But is it worth high praise? Not really. I know similar titles out there which are better than it. QUOTE(Soggie) One question. Should i max out small arms or big guns? Regardless how good this game is, it will still remain shit to Fallout fanboys who think that Beth butchered their game. The response from the gaming community who has never played the previous games has been arguably quite positive so far. Here are some reviews that I managed to find » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « That's like taking a harley davidson and putting in a kapcai engine and then selling to mat rempits who never drove a harley before. Freaking hell, I ran out of bullets for all four guns (combat shotgun, submachine gun, assault rifle and magnum). I must admit, once you crank up the difficulty to Hard or Very Hard, the game gets interesting. Below that the combat is just a sorry excuse of lame cakes.
A word of advise to new comers - only put skill points into small arms for the first 8 levels because you're gonna need it. You'll be running into so many combats that it becomes ridiculous after a while. Added on November 4, 2008, 2:10 amOne praise for Beth's writers - they got the BoS right. I was wrong in the past for suggesting that they lore raped BoS. The new BoS really sucked shit, but then the lore explaining why they suddenly became knights in shining armors made sense, and the Outcasts were fitting too. Too bad the dialogue, voice acting and animations couldn't be saved. Had they hired a more competent writer and better voice actors... Anybody had any success playing a pure speech character? QUOTE(used2bcow @ Nov 4 2008, 04:03 AM) Maybe dats the reason why it crashes. DRMs like SECUROM can be used to run certain codes to cause problem in the game one. Like maybe enemies invincible and stuff. Maybe for FO3 it crashes to desktop after every 10 minutes Nope, it is too inconsistent to be some f***ed up anti-sparrow mechanism. I'm pretty sure its related to its engine's bugs. There's actually a huge thread on this crashing phenomena. |

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Nov 4 2008, 01:23 PM) Noob question here. How can I earn caps? Can I trade everything I pick (guns, jumpsuit, book, pencil, etc..) for caps? Who can I trade those thing with if possible? Stuck at Megaton because I need caps for information on my quest but I just don't know how can I acquired caps. Forgive me for this stupid question and my sin as a newbie as I never played Fallout before. Sigh. If one way doesn't work, find for another way. Beside mortriary tehre's a locker which you can pick, and inside is a password. Beside the locker tehre's a computer, and use the password to run the terminal. Then you should get your father's location.Don't lar only think of one way to proceed... wasting Beth's quest designers effort only Added on November 4, 2008, 5:21 pm QUOTE(s7ran9er @ Nov 4 2008, 05:12 PM) Ditto. QUOTE(zioburosky13 @ Nov 4 2008, 06:00 PM) I haven't found him yet, but I heard stories. Truly the saddest moment in my fallout fan life. PS: For those who thought that my sadness comes from Beth's handling of Harold, you're partly right. I'm sad not because Beth gave it a brillliant and moving writing that ends with his death causing me to grieve... no. They practically raped Harold's lore and turned it into something else. I'm crying at the sacriledge at one of THE MOST memorable NPCs EVER in the history of PC gaming. |

QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Nov 4 2008, 08:08 PM) pls humour me - what's the differences between Beth changing FO1/2 isometric, tactical gameplay to FPS FO3 compare to Blizzard changing Warcraft RTS to WoW MMORPG/3rd person view? WoW is called World of Warcraft, not Warcraft 5. Understand the difference now?Added on November 4, 2008, 8:09 pmi can think of one - they still have Dota to satisfied the cult-like fan of Warcraft If not, go look up the dictionary to find the meaning of spin-off and sequel. |

QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Nov 4 2008, 11:38 PM) so u just wan Beth to change the name lahh...haiya... YES. That was the whole point of the fallout fandom's complaints, isn't it? Look at fallout: brotherhood of steel. While it sucked and tanked big time, the fans were considerably kinder to it (ignoring it rather than flaming it to hell) than fallout 3.oklohh...from now on pls call it World of Fallout would that make u happier? From the beginning I have maintained that I would rather see Beth call it Fallout: East Coast or Fallout Realms or something like that. A spinoff like Fallout: Tactics would be more fitting to the perspective and game mechanic change rather than claiming to make a sequel that totally ripped apart what made the original series fun instead. So yes, change the name, appease the fans. A simple move can combine the old and new fans together, and Beth stubbornly refused to do that. |
