November 2017 security patch has been released.

I downloaded it and installed it on my Pixel 2 and surprisingly it contains the new "Colors" option under "Display" that allows the user to tweak the saturation of the display. Google didn't wait to implement this in the 8.1 release scheduled for December 2017.

My take between the "saturated" and "boosted" (renamed from previous "Vivid colors") options, I prefer the latter. Saturated does make the colors on the screen pop like on Samsung AMOLED screens but I think I prefer the more natural/muted colors.

Anyone with a Pixel 2 XL, can you try out the new colors option and share if it improves the overall screen color output?

Just watch one of the youtube video as one of the reviewer mention that the colour still not calibrated properly by google

Anyone here have Kinda Blue Pixel 2? If yes, is your unit from Verizon?

Just want to check since Kinda Blue can only be purchase from Verizon at this moment. And any issue when using other carrier.

overall panda is nice but if you slap in back case ...then you panda is not so panda anymore unless you used transparent case... not sure if the white will become yellowish over time

Just received my Pixel 2 XL 128G ordered from Techbug. Price is RM4664. Techbug include free 3 pin socket adapter in the box which is very nice cause the original socket is 2 pin US socket. My first Impression after 24 hours using it and firmware is based on November security update.

1. Display:
The blue tint is very minor and almost negligible. I have no flashing screen problem as reported by Phone Arena website. Screen is very bright even at 30% brightness. I put my colour mode under saturated cos it look more vibrant and sharp. Can compete with my S7edge amoled display. Really happy with the display. It up to personal preference. Other may prefer Boost or Natural mode.

2. Loudspeaker.
Not as loud as I expected. My previous Nexus 6P is much louder. The ringing tone sound for me is quite weak compare to media sound. Still ok with me but I was expecting a bit more louder.

3. Performance.
Buttery smooth. I dont feel any lag yet. Maybe still very new and not much apps installed.

4. Connectivity.
My 4G signal is really strong & stable. Wifi performance also very fast & stable. Never have dropout or disconnected problem yet.

5. Google Assistant.
Can say Hey Google now. Very accurate and fast response. Better than Siri. With Siri your english pronunciation must be perfect but with google assistant, even with broken english you can always get the correct answer.

6. Camera
Still testing it but so far the photo look very sharp & punchy. You can select HDR On or HDR Plus On. Not much different but if choose HDR On the photo capture is faster.

7. Battery
Still testing it

8. Voice call
Not tested it yet coz I seldom call people only use text through social media. smile.gif

So far after 24 hours Im really happy with this phone. thumbup.gif

Best Buy physical store it is. Check kaw kaw on the spot because you could replace instantly. If order through google then there is a waiting time to do RMAs.

Idk how to advice bout smuggling it in. Zero experience

Easiest way is for your friend to open it in advance, so it's for 'personal use'.

Have u checked if that charger is following USB C 'safe standards' by at least compare against Nathan K or Benson's tested list? I dont think Blitz Wolf is on the list but u may search if anyone that has used it on Pixel 2 given feedback if it charge fine or not. If wrong spec then the phone might pull incorrect power from charger resulting in damage.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vnp..._TX8/edit#gid=0

Note that the above list might be outdated now. Saw an updated list of peripherals few weeks back.

Didn't see this mentioned but, can we use this phone in Malaysia? I've been doing some reading and looks like carriers do not support esim yet.
