My Pixel 2 (64GB) Black has arrived.

Below are some quick impressions after spending a quick 15 mins with it:

Ergonomics:

- Simple to hold in one hand coming from a Google Pixel XL model
- Easy to type with one hand

Build Quality:

- This thing feels solid in the hand like a brick with no moving parts when squeezed or pressed (Kudos HTC!)
- The back material is aluminum but because of its plastic outer coating, it has a nice smooth "sand paper-ish" texture to it that feels grippy

Haptics:

- It has been improved significantly over the Google Pixel XL's vibrator
- To describe the sensation, it feels very similar to the iPhone 7/8 Plus's taptic engine. A sharp and medium vibration is how i can ascribe the feeling on the Pixel 2
- Rear centre finger print scanner is fast. Much more faster and precise than the Google Pixel XL's

Screen:

- My unit (thankfully) doesn't exhibit any of the over-sensationalized screen gate issues i.e blue tint at 15 or 20 degree angles, no screen banding or black crush when viewing black objects after conducting several screen tests using Display Tester App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.displaytester)
- Vivid mode is set on by default. The colors do indeed feel slightly muted/warmer compared to the vibrant Google Pixel XL's (with sRGD set to off) screen but my eyes will eventually get used to it
- I will monitor closely for the next 5 days to look out for screen burn in/image retention (fingers crossed it does not occur)

Speakers:

- These speakers get really loud at full volume and are very skewered towards treble and mids. Bass isn't very strong and punchy
- Media volume control now has 25 steps versus 15 media steps for most Android phones making volume adjustments more precise to avoid those troublesome "sudden leaps" in volume gain/drop
- Compared to my previous Nexus 6 and Moto X Pure dual speakers at full volume, the Pixel 2's are subjectively not as loud as them if i recall

Camera:

- I'll post some comparison pictures later but i do not expect it to be leaps and bounds better than the OG Pixel XL's camera. I think it may have a slight edge in low light thanks to its EIS + OIS

I would like to share my personal battery life/consumption for the Pixel 2 (not the Pixel 2 XL).

In summary, battery life has been incredible for a 2,700 mAh battery.

It's on par with my OG Pixel XL (3,450 mAh battery). For comparison, my previous record for my Pixel XL was 7 hours 9 min SOT with 17 hours 19 min standby at 6% battery left remaining.

My default settings are:

- Location set to ON
- Bluetooth and NFC set OFF
- Brightness set to 30% with Adaptive Brightness set to OFF
- 2 x Google accounts in active sync
- Google photos backup set to OFF
- 60% LTE and 40% on Wi-Fi throughout the day
- Wallpaper set to black for AMOLED screens
- Silent mode set to ON

Just received my Pixel 2 XL 128G ordered from Techbug. Price is RM4664. Techbug include free 3 pin socket adapter in the box which is very nice cause the original socket is 2 pin US socket. My first Impression after 24 hours using it and firmware is based on November security update.

1. Display:
The blue tint is very minor and almost negligible.  I have no flashing screen problem as reported by Phone Arena website. Screen is very bright even at 30% brightness. I put my colour mode under saturated cos it look more vibrant and sharp. Can compete with my S7edge amoled display. Really happy with the display. It up to personal preference. Other may prefer Boost or Natural mode.

2. Loudspeaker.
Not as loud as I expected. My previous Nexus 6P is much louder. The ringing tone sound for me is quite weak compare to media sound. Still ok with me but I was expecting a bit more louder.

3. Performance.
Buttery smooth. I dont feel any lag yet. Maybe still very new and not much apps installed.

4. Connectivity.
My 4G signal is really strong & stable. Wifi performance also very fast & stable. Never have dropout or disconnected problem yet.

5. Google Assistant.
Can say Hey Google now. Very accurate and fast response. Better than Siri. With Siri your english pronunciation must be perfect but with google assistant, even with broken english you can always get the correct answer.

6. Camera
Still testing it but so far the photo look very sharp & punchy. You can select HDR On or HDR Plus On. Not much different but if choose HDR On the photo capture is faster.

7. Battery
Still testing it

8. Voice call
Not tested it yet coz I seldom call people only use text through social media.

So far after 24 hours Im really happy with this phone.

basically...t&l has an office in KL, but they are actually based in HK. So they will ship the phone back to HK and then send back to the manufacturer.

Install new OTA first then wait for update from Gplay. Arrived to me in like 1 day. I didn't try the method to wipe Google service framework and other framework as people reported their push notification died and they need to hard reset to get all sorted back.

I might be rooting end of this week. Cannot tahan see ads. I don't wanna use other browser than Chrome just because I don't wanna see ads. VPN adblocker is too much for me due to increase of services in phone and might lead to higher latency or battery drain.
