QUOTE(8sg9ft @ Feb 27 2018, 01:37 PM) Still prefer the conventional nose like Mercedes have and don’t like the other teams’ new noses. Having said that, at least they’re nowhere near the atrocious 2014 F1 cars. Those are the real “ugly dicks”. Lol QUOTE(6UE5T @ Feb 27 2018, 02:32 PM) Yeah last year only Merc & TR cars looked good coz they use more conventional nose design. Now TR also already using the 'dick' style nose so only merc still looks ok. Some more now got the weird halo, sigh... Mercedes engine is so good, that they can compromised in other things and able to use conventional nose design. QUOTE(6UE5T @ Feb 27 2018, 03:41 PM) Hahaha well it will be amusing to see if really TR can beat McLaren but honestly for the good of the whole F1 we need the best drivers to be at the sharp end fighting for wins and podiums. Therefore I do really want McLaren to be back to winning ways to enable Alonso to properly fight with Ham & Seb coz those 3 are the true best ahead of the rest. Having Alonso struggling in the last few years is painful to see (even though I'm not a true fan of him) and doesn't do any good whatsoever for F1 IMHO, so if again they got beaten up badly again even by TR then it's F1 loss. So it will be good of TR can be more competitive but I still want McLaren to be back challenging Merc/Ferrari/RB and winning some races. I think the problem with him is that he is not very good at motivating teams...vettel done better job at motivating ferrari than him imo.

Actually Mercs chassis is also equally good or at least very close to the best (which ever chassis that is). People just think about the engine coz it seems the most stand out and underestimate their chassis side but the Mercs is not too shabby either in most tracks that requires handling, especially mid-high speed sweepers. So if Mercs can do with a better looking nose design than why the others cannot? I think maybe Mercs even knows something different that the other teams might not quite get yet, hence they still maintain their different nose design than the rest. Yeah maybe Alonso is not a good team player after all but his talent behind the wheel is unquestionable and therefore it's F1 loss that he's struggling so much in a shitty car while he still is one of the best on the grid.

Its all about compromised....from designer pov, looks it not important. All team use the ugly design, so it maybe the best compromise. Just that merc got more advantage in other aspect that they can opted not to use that ugly nose.

I honestly don't see why so much hype in Kubica, to me he's one of those too overrated ones. He barely just beat Nick Heidfield when he was in 100% condition, so he might be a decent one but he's no Alonso/Ham/Seb, not even Kimi's level when Kimi was at his best or Dani Ric or Max.

U gotta understand Kubica and Heidfeld are not in the league of Seb/Ham/Alonso or Kimi/Max/Dani Ric. At his best he’s probably at Perez and Hulkenburg’s level only. Good and consistent enough for a midfield team but certainly not great enough for a top team

However whenever I read about people comments in the news about Kubica, they all rate him like another super driver or something which I cannot understand from where! His best was 2008 when he won once and finished 4th but that time Heidfeld also was doing pretty good and was only 2 places behind in 6th, so probably the car was decent.
