Same here. Received the call on Monday. Said they charged $3600 to my credit card and asked me to key in something to confirm. I cut off the call. Then called pbb to verify that I had no such charges and it is a scam.

But that's really phone number of public bank..

it LOOKS like legit pbb number, but these scammers taking advantage how phones displaying the real number, masked some prefixes and what you see is just 03-xxxxxxxx

another way is spoofing, real scam numbers are routed to fake "real number"


DO NOT believe everything what you see or hear.

i received few scam call as well....
was saying my cc was swiped or pending how many thousand ringgit....
then i just press the number they ask for , n play w with them....
just want to find out how their strategy to cheat ppl lol

So how to confirm it's really call from bank or not?

usually just say u will call back the bank (using the official phone number).

1) use common sense!

do u really owe the money they claimed you to be?
do u even have their service at all?
do u have issues with the outstanding?

you should know whether you are in trouble or not.

2) if you are in trouble, do u prefer to call banks for info and support?

3) then call the bank back! or in serious trouble, walk in to branch or HQ to resolve.


why do u need bank to call you and help? knowing there are many scams around, do u think it is safe to deal over the phone call?

convenience and complacent will put you in deeper trouble. be careful, mindful, and alert, especially dealing with banks or money-related matters.

I love Quantum Card alot, but my salary is not there yet. I have RM20,000 to dump for FD, wonder if it is worth or not. As I can opt for promo FD instead of normal FD and i will get Quantum Card. Appreciate if someone can confirm, if I have a saving account with PBB, can i view my money deposited in FD thru online?

if can, then take vs and 2 quantum card
to maximize your cash back

Did talk about that with customer service thru phone. They said it subject to management approval. Will try to ask my branch later, you know that if FD placed money will be appearing thru online? Like when log in my internet banking, it will show the money i deposited.

My experience is we need to make a request at branch counter for linking the FD account with our savings account so that it will appear on the ebanking.

Make 7x payment to TELEKOM through UOBPAY on 16th Oct and now PBE shows I made 14x payment to TELEKOM. Wow.

Check TM Portal there's no extra payment made to them.

Already call up PB and said need to fill up to form for them to do the checking. Wth~!

I made 2x in morning, 2x at noon, 2x at evening to Payonline-Telekom on 16/10.
I got 8x transaction charged (4x posted on 17/10, 4x posted on 18/10) to statement (18/10)!
I checked again the summary at Payonline, OTPs received, then I complained to PB.

This CS doesn't required me to fill up any form.

First call was made to 03-2176 8000.

Yes, the customer service told me no need to do anything. He noticed duplicate authorization code, so should be duplicate transactions.

I'm trying to get confirmation with you guys here, since calling their centre engaged 24/7.

I want to apply Public Bank Quantum CC, so need to register account, and want to apply for PBe.
However, the aunty over the counter said that I need to pay charges for some security device if i want to register for PBe (personal).

Is this normal practice by PB?
Do i need to pay the device charges if i were to apply PBe?
Is there any other charges to apply for PBe?
