don't know what was the deal for LG but we know LG is not using ATV.

for sony and sharp ATV, the old app used to work like android boxes; just need a mouse to navigate.

however, since a few months ago, the new app does not play smoothly for HD channels on the 2 TV brands, but OK for SD channels.

i guess they r now trying a diff version to accommodate ATV TV's.

when it is finally available, users of diff ATV devices can try to see if works on ATV boxes too, e.g. shieldtv, mibox s.

i have an old box (himedia H8) and i just checked, it is not fully rooted. So i cannot edit the SU. But, Astro Go actually saying my device is rooted....

Yes. If you have Astro installed at home, then you will entitled to have access to Astro Go.
Here's how to link Astro ID with your Astro account:
If you don't have Astro, ask your friends or relatives that uses Astro (that pays monthly subscription ones) to lend their Astro Go account credentials (email and password) to you.
Of course, look for those who subscribe to Sports pack ones (cuz you said you wanna watch F1, right?).

You can use the same account to login unlimited number of devices (phone, tablet, computer...), but you can only stream up to any 4 devices at the same time.
Get what I mean? It is similar to Netflix's RM55/month plan.

your box runs on ATV, i think - that's why u get the judders with HD streams.

astro is now testing a diff apk for ATV tvs - see previous page.

when that is available, u may want to try that.

no longer juddering caused by atv.. non atv will encounter this as well.. among the boxes that I have tested and encounter the juddering issue:

A95X F3 Air - AOSP Android, L3 widevine
X96 Max Plus - AOSP Android, L3 widevine
Mecool M8S Pro W/L - AOSP Android, L1 widevine (hacked, not google certified)
X96S (Android stick) - AOSP Android, L3

Therefore for new aotg version, we can no longer assume it is due to ATV, or to L1.. some firmware is not meant for AOTG.. at the moment, Tanix (not all models) and Beelink (not all models) is known still working well even with new AOTG.. just wait for astro to launch their TV app in 2 months time.. i managed to subscribe the beta program for rm1.06.. the beta tv program is now already closed..

do report back if this beta works on any ATV device - smart TV or box or stick!

hehehe.. even though it is beta, u still have to login inside normal aotg app.. unfortunately, the original aotg rules apply..

so what u have is beta ID..





so if u encounter any stuttering, blank issue, no video, rooted device whatsoever, you can't resolve the issue by signing up this beta..

i have tested the ID on my redmi5, tx6 (unrooted), went smooth so far, like normal aotg account..

but there must be something they did to want to test on smart ATV.

any chance u take this beta subscription and test it on a sony or sharp ATV?

unfortunately, i dont own any sony or sharp smart tv.. i only have skyworth 58g2a smart androidtv

i havent heard from anyone using the mentioned specified model that they can/currently using the atv version right now..

Ive enrolled in the beta program too. Can login to the Astro Go in mobile, but the Astro TV app still havent shown up in my Sony ATV play store. I guess the app didnt release yet. Im not an existing Astro subscriber fyi

Hello, firstly u need to unroot the device. By default its rooted. There's a built in switch to unroot but that doesn't work some how.

Open Root Browser app then navigate to /system/xbin

You will find a file with name "su". You need to rename this file to something else that you can remember in future to undo. example suBLA.

Then restart your device. Then open Root Checker app to verify its unrooted. That's it.

To watch AOTG, download the latest version from either PlayStore or APKPure app. then follow this step
