Have you tried older astro go apk?

Not everyday, say 3 - 5 days per wk.. Occasionally, the app is left running (unknowingly...noob guests just press TV remote, without first quitting the Astro app or placing the box in standby mode) on the box, while TV app is used..
Minix.. Beelink boxes.. no issue.. Using TIME ISP & wired.

I'm using Q plus android box, I'm unable to run AOTG.
when I try to run it only black screen appearing.
try using a modded version of AOTG still the same
any ideas on this?

Try to connect via the AV port to the TV, and see if any difference.

If you don't have the AV cable, then try HDMI on a different TV or other HDMI display screen. See if you still get the black screen.

Tried but still the same,
Might be the root access blocking app from launching
Tried unroot using SU and magisk end up with soft brick and reflash firmware
Still finding a way to run this app

i think reason is yr box either rooted/semi rooted and/or poor firmware.

best not to waste time n effort... just get another box that works easy.... there are cheap boxes that work.

Apologies... I didn’t read back to see your history.. just going to reply to this particular post. The Asterruk app will still launch even on a rooted device, except that, after launching it then detects root and throws up the error. If yours is don’t launch at all, hints at an incompatible app version (try other versions .see if work) or worse a deeper firmware or hardware issue. Have you tried running the “fixed” versions posted earlier on here?

Last2... If all else fails, just do as user AVFAN says.. Save time and effort. Get it working immediately with no fuss.

agreed its a poor firmware, will be searching for something more reliable.

tried all the fixed posted earlier, still no luck.
its firmware related issue. I'm able to run AOTG using android 8 but not 9.
even flashed TX6 firmware and able to run but the downside is unable to shut down the box properly and wifi not working
the issue with android 8 is unable to bypass digital audio in MX player and unable to play 4K youtube videos (VP9 codec not supported).
android 9 resolves all this but unable to use AOTG.
The only possible workaround is by using VMOS and run modded AOTG, seems to be working fine, but will upgrade to something more reliable in the future.

Hmm, under Android 8... Does Kodi experience the same HD audio passthrough issue? Also, tried the app Smart YouTube TV to get 4K?

VMOS is a decent workaround, but as you’ve found out.. it’s not the easiest to use especially if you’ve got other less tech-oriented folks in the house. Yep, upgrading to a more friendly box would be ideal.

Mibox uses ATV os, cannot do astrogo.

TX6.... make sure u get one that is unrooted by seller, tested good.
If rooted, astrogo wont work.

anyone tested new boxes working with astro go to be update to the list ?

The reason why I suggested changing from HDMI to AV cable, and changing the TV to other TV is because some months back there were issues of back screen when starting up AstroGo. A black screen but can still see air mouse. Others mentioned it is related to some HDMI issues for some old LCD TVs.

If you don't have this issue, you should at least get the AstroGO Startup Screen before the Root Detected message appears.

As for the solution to the problem, I don't recall there is any cheap and easy to do method as suggested by a forumer azwandy.

I believe it is not the box problem if you see a black screen on the TV, it is more of the TV HDMI not compatible (HCDP or HDCP if I am not mistaken).

* no version official or modified works on my sharp AndroidTV tv.
* heard from a seller the ugoos am6plus does not work with astrogo.
* minix us22-xj is in the market - wud like to know if astrog works on it... anyone?

yup.. hdcp issue.. some old tv not compatible with hdcp implemented in astrogo app..

also another new common issue.. black screen with double white horizontal lines.. a lot of people using yes in the 4g modem have this issue.. solution is to connect to different isp other than yes, then sign in at aotg page, then can continue using yes for astrogo..

Beelink GT1 mini A - the app not properly working. Can login but when select channel, got green after that black srceen with sound. so revert to previous one.

I hv X96 Max rooted..
1st install Astro Go .apk
2nd Astro Go prompt rooted device
3rd I rename SU file at system/bin n xbin
4th now can login n select movie but no image just sound..

Any idea how to bring the image?

Im using mibox s. After update new firmware, only can stream video without visual. Reinstall March version still same. Jan version works wonder

U mean android box firmware or astro app?
Your Android version 8 or 9?
