A number of boxes can use official version AoTG or the modded version of AoTG.

Tx3mini or Tx3 are popular choices, for their affordability and can use with official version of AoTG

Try to connect via the AV port to the TV, and see if any difference.

If you don't have the AV cable, then try HDMI on a different TV or other HDMI display screen. See if you still get the black screen.

Tried but still the same,
Might be the root access blocking app from launching
Tried unroot using SU and magisk end up with soft brick and reflash firmware
Still finding a way to run this app  sad.gif

The reason why I suggested changing from HDMI to AV cable, and changing the TV to other TV is because some months back there were issues of back screen when starting up AstroGo. A black screen but can still see air mouse. Others mentioned it is related to some HDMI issues for some old LCD TVs.

If you don't have this issue, you should at least get the AstroGO Startup Screen before the Root Detected message appears.

As for the solution to the problem, I don't recall there is any cheap and easy to do method as suggested by a forumer azwandy.

I believe it is not the box problem if you see a black screen on the TV, it is more of the TV HDMI not compatible (HCDP or HDCP if I am not mistaken).

Astro Go today force update to 2.201.4, if not you cant launch the apps. I think the 2.201.4 version they have block streaming through HDMI output and give u a black screen with sound only. It is like you cant airplay or use HDMI cable out put From iPad. They now have this block for TV box as well.

Tx3 mini 2 GB, Android 7
Prior to today, using version 1.9xx
Noticed yesterday and today, the live Channels were stuttering akin to Mibox S problem. VOD , no issue.

Today evening, it says update required.
I didn't update with latest 2.201.4 but the one before it, version 2.201.2. from apkpure.

No more stuttering issue.

I am not well verse in this problem. Personally I don't think this new stuttering problem is related to Android TV. Feel like it is more of Astro Engineers made changes to their video encryption to halt HD viewing in popular TV boxes like Mibox S.

My Tx3 Mini was working fine with version 1.9 till a few days before release of version 2.0. In those few days, the HD channels were stuttering. After upgrading to version 2, it is okay. UPgraded again to 2.0.4, still okay.

Those apks which still uses version 1.9 renamed to version 2.04 to bypass the force update, will definitely encounter abnormal issues of blank screen or stuttering HD video even on other OEM TV boxes. Weird thing is that, some boxes affected, others still work fine with version 1.9. Beats me what is the actual cause. Feel it is very much firmware dependent. Didn't hear Nvidia Shield experiencing these problems.
