LG is the world 2nd largest TV manufacturer, just behind Samsung. Of coz it is a strong brand. Whether to buy LG TV or not, it all depends on your requirements and budget. LG LED TV using IPS panel, you need to understand the pros and cons of such panel. LG WebOS is one of the best smart TV OS out there and the TV is quite reliable from my own experience.

Errr Display set? On 7 days a week for 12 hours a day for the past 10 or 12 months? What are your thoughts? Better you buy my 3 years old TV, less usage  tongue.gif

Haha, if your TV is a Z9D, I wont mind. By the way, I took the plunge and bought it.

QUOTE(jdgobio @ Apr 16 2018, 10:21 AM)
Make sure you test it kaw kaw with some test screens - white, yellow, red, etc. The reason I say that is because the few times I have been there, the Z9D display was stuck on the Hot air balloon scene, the video was like it was on pause throughout. I don't know why that was so, maybe the device running the video hanged or the TV's android hanged. So, test it to make sure that there are no permanent burn-ins.  And yes, burn in is possible on an LCD screen although its usually just temporary image retention and not a permanent burn in.

Also, try to negotiate for a 5 year warranty. If they refuse, then buy their 5 year warranty, its quite cheap compared to other retailers.

Better grab it fast before someone else does.

FYI, I also saw a Samsung 65KS9500 display set at TBM Tropicana mall selling for RM10k. The set looks pristine.

Already bought it. Unfortunately Sony only gave me a standard 2 years warranty. Try to purchase an additional 3 years warranty but it will be quite expensive since they will calculate it based on the original pricing.

So far the performance of the tv is great. Thanks for the advise before.

Where is the location of the shop? I will say it still worth consider even though it is a display set, Z9D is the LED TV that I love the most. I have a display set TV with me and it has been working perfectly fine, but do ensure you get 5 years warranty.
*
It's from Sony Center KLCC. Too bad I can only get 2 years warranty but touch-wood, hopefully it will be ok for the long run.

Correction , mostly nobody really care about LG TV unless you are talking about their OLED series , which are stunning products of course.

All of their current mid-low range TV are using RGBW Panel which is essentially a 3k TV unless you buying this TV to display snow scenes and White project fields in your office.

Beside that , their current RGBW TV has the some of the worst picture quality I have ever seen from any Branded TV (discounting those subpar Chinese brand like skyworth)
If you want to get an LG TV , avoid getting the low/mid range but even their highend LED series aren't very good either .

And they are not much cheaper as well , the other brand's similar range only like Rm100 apart but at the very least all of them come pre-equipped 4K Panel.
You do not want to save that RM 100 for something that will come and bite you off in the future.

SengHeng offers 65X7000E for 4799 and 65MU6300 for 4599. Called them and they accept trade in with condition to purchase a min 55” tv. According to the SP, the min trade in value is 500 and max 1000.

Plan to drop by ShengHeng at OneU this weekend to find out more.

Samsung 2018 Qled have been listed rin Samsung Malaysia website. currently only 65" Q7FN got the RRP. the RRP is RM15,999.99. WTF !!!!!! Gila markup.

As comparison the same model in US RRP is USD2,599.99.

Let say take exh rate at 4.5. USD2,599.99x4.5+GST=RM12,402.00.

RM4000 for shipping and profit. that is alot.

Forget the Q7, it have better in color gamut if compared to MU7000, the rest almost similar to MU7000. This is compare between 2017 model, I believe 2018 is similar.

Go for Q9 instead 😁

Samsung QLEDs were extremely overpriced in 2017 and seem to be still overpriced for 2018 models. Better look elsewhere or wait for prices to come down to more reasonable levels.
