Mine wasn't under any load when the 5ghz suddenly died. It was slightly warm but not hot.

I separate the 2.4 and 5 because sometimes it gets annoying when it loses connection to connect to the other one

Anyway the seller will replace the router, let's see what happens then

I also separate 2.4 and 5. I tried to use smart connect but I found that Apple 8 can lompat to 5 but not Apple 7+. Same thing with my PCE-AC88 that I used for my desktop. At the end I use them separately

With pce-ac88 and ac86u, did u test with iperf what is the highest speed u can get from WiFi?

Since both of them is having 4x4 spatial stream.

Have not. But I dont think the result will be good since the distance between my desktop and router is quite far. However, most of the time I am connecting at 1.3ghz (AC band) and have not noticed any drop or lag in connection.

Ok. Mine is year 2018. I think they might cut some cost, perhaps using smaller heatsink causing the problem.

Wah where was the bundle when i bought my 86u earlier this year. Apparently one 86u is not enough to cover the whole house.

is the temperature high without a fan?

Anyway update on my previous issue of 5ghz dead

Got replacement and put a fan

Seems working fine with a fan

Initially prior to putting a fan, the router restarts after running speed test on 5ghz

Legend: 2.4 GHz - 5 GHz - CPU
Current Temperatures: 55 °C - 60 °C - 75 °C

These are my temps under very heavy loads - torrents, gaming, youtubes etc. High?

I am not using any fans.
