hi , im using maxis fiber 300mbps , thinking of changing to AX86 u , but my desktop don't have wifi adapter , any recommend ? AC3100 Dual-Band is it good for it ?

I am currently using Astro Beyond + Time Fibre 100Mbps.

But I am using the old wifi AP, which can support max 10Mbps. Super duper slow.

I am considering this

1) Can it work with Time fibre 100Mbps?

2) I read the earlier posts that this model was released 2 years ago. Still can work? Or there's better and stable model?

3) I am not a gamer (unless Diablo 4 is out). But I need good WIFI. My current WIFI seems rather unstable, often disconnected.

4) I presume buying the Malaysia version is better right?

I think its still stable router among others (my opinion)
Suggest u buy Msia version if you have budget (and also price decreased quite lots), China version cheaper but warranty only held by China seller, means if you need to claim warranty in future, ASUS Msia wont entertain, you will need to send back to your seller/China seller.

since yesterday i have this weird issue. the internet connection was dropped 3-4 times and i need to manually bring the connection up, by disabling and enabling back the WAN. IINM, the router will automatically reconnect pppoe connection once it detect the internet connection is lost. but now i wonder why i need to manually bounce the port?

so i reverted back to stock firmware which is on higher version than merlin, and so far it pretty stable. while last night, the internet disconnection was quite obvious, every 6-10 min will dc.

My China set LAN 4 issue got fixed, basically replace the mt3125 chip, can get from TaoBao, so far there's only one seller.

there is a nnew firmware for this model, anyone updated it?

My RT-86u bought since 2018 suddenly down and lan 4 port led on, is my router gg already?
