Taukeh, are you sure about that? hmm.gif

If I have moolah, I would upgrade mine to Klipsch RF 62 system.

Review : "With the RF-62 [system] ... you can now call your home a theater. Their cabinets minimize vibrations, which eliminates unnecessary sounds. That allows you to enjoy all 17 lines of Arnold's dialogue in Terminator without distraction."

Hi all sifus, Onkyo 805 is better than 806 because it is heavier? More transistors inside? I was thinking of getting 806 but now do i need to think twice? hehe

If we all had loads and loads of moolah then needless to say we all also aim for the sky for our HT. But first must buy big enough house so you can build big enough dedicated HT room biggrin.gif. Then only look at the equipment...

USD300k? That's cheap compared to this.

Less likely that heavier will be better in this case. I didnt check its review or spec for both. Normally, a replacement model should perform better. Unless, there is a review that says otherwise.

Onkyo 805 is higher spec'ed that the Onkyo 806

805- THD rated at .05%, 3 DSP chips, Burr-Brown DAC's, Audyssey MultiEq XT
806- THD rated at .07%, 2 DSP chips, Cirrus Logic DAC's, Audyssey MultiEq

The power ratings are also lower, that being the main reason for the lower weight.

I think the Yammy 3900 would be much more expensive than the 805.

I was reading about the 805 vs 806 on AVS Forum. Apparently the 805 is just only slightly scaled down from 875 and therefore too close in terms of product differentiation. When they moved to the next gen, Onkyo had to introduce more differences so the 806 was scaled down a lot more to distinguish from 876. That's why many feel that 805 better than 806 and why 805 higher spec than 806.

yes .. both Epos M12.2 front speakers and M8 centre speaker got rubber feets to decouple them from the av cabinet its not ideal solution and i'm thinking of getting a dedicated speaker stands for the M12.2..the rear speakers are B&W LM1 fixed to the rear wall angled toward the listening position..

While we are dreaming about uber high end systems, have a look at these 2 projectors (as used by Kipnis):

Sony SRX-R220
Meridian 810

Didn't even know such shockingly high end stuff existed... drool.gif
