QUOTE(small_fish18 @ Oct 7 2017, 02:19 PM) Cost me less than 2k include shipping and upgrade to 3D handle post from taobao. Hi, previously forget to reply u. Can I know from which seller u bought the bike? Can send me the link? And what shipping method u use? Would like to sell my MTB and get this insteadThere's local selling selling in some fb group with slightly higher price but I think it worth the mess to order online and do your own tuning after that. I'm using a 349 wheelset so doesn't fold as compact as original it came. But can be fit perfectly into IKEA dimpa bag.i usually leave the handle post unfold and roll around. This frame doesn't support magnetix system but it's quite easy to roll around because there's more friction at the hinge compare to Dahon or tern. In fact I find it even easier to roll compare to magnetix system. The saddle is brooks B17, one of the best saddle money can buy   Thanks a lot! |

Thanks, looking forward for your link. Anyway, u use sea shipping or air shipping? I will choose to buy local to save the hassle to be honest. I use air shipping. The agent i use offer a charges base on half of the actual weight and half of the size weight, and it's actually cheaper compare to sea ship. Cost me around RM200 QUOTE(KenC @ Oct 17 2017, 07:13 PM) Didnt kena tax because i use shipping agent. They can settle most of the taxation issue. They can even bring in sensitive item that taobao official shipper not allow. |

I will try and contact those sellers and agent, see which one is cheaper or less hassle to deal with. As my location is at sarawak, dont know how much the shipping cost Your FGC is 9 or 10 speed? enough gears compared to 18 speed KA16? I know more is better, but i would rather get lighter as i dont climb much |

QUOTE(lazyman@home @ Oct 19 2017, 11:41 AM) Thanks a lot bro! Got your PM. Mine is 9 speeds. And i upgrade to Fnhon 3D handlepost also. I will try and contact those sellers and agent, see which one is cheaper or less hassle to deal with. As my location is at sarawak, dont know how much the shipping cost Your FGC is 9 or 10 speed? enough gears compared to 18 speed KA16? I know more is better, but i would rather get lighter as i dont climb much Don worry about the gears. 9 or even 8 speeds is enough, just make sure u choose for 11-28 for cassette. More gears doesnt mean lighter gear, more gears only translate to smoother cadence transition, which very important in long distance road bike ride, but in small wheels bike, the difference is too small. Hence no point for 11 speeds. If you are worry for climbing, choose smaller chainring. Mine come with 53T, pair with 11-28 9 speeds cassette, 349 wheels, it's actually the same gear inches as 34x28T, 700C wheel. So i can climb almost any hills that i tried with RB, just that much more slower la. The only downside is this frame does creak when climb (very common problem for side fold foldie), which i cannot tahan. So i use this for chill and commute ride. |

I saw a lot bike with 8 speed come with 11-32 cassette, while 9 speed and above, mostly with 11-28. Thinking of 8 speed 11-32, wonder if the gap is big between cogs..my ka16, i setup 2x8 speed only (16speed).my setup 53/39 crank with 8speed casette 11-23 and 439 wheels.and all the time i used only 13,15 and 17t cogs and either 53 or 39 chainring even when i climb jerai last time.. others cog never used it at all QUOTE(small_fish18 @ Oct 19 2017, 04:21 PM) Mine is 9 speeds. How to calculate gear inch? want to try calculate how much gear inches there are on my rb and mtb, and see the foldie's cassette enough for me or not. Nice bike. My intention for the bike is for commute. MTB commute not too convenient during parking at workplace. And if go back home rain, hard to put mtb in friend's car.. |

Yeah, quite common for side fold frame. Last time my tern B7 also creak. Then Dahon eezz vertical fold system doesn't. So I think it's common for side food frame. My handle post was creaking, solve the creakin sound after grease and tighten it. |

U can check here or just download apps from your phone. My foldie lightest gear is the same as my RB. Of cause heaviest gear can't compare. So climbing is not an issue. U can't use 11-32 on this frame tho. 16" wheel is too low to use medium cage/long cage. |

16 don't really need big rear cog… but more likely you need bigger chainring.
Let's say you use 1.5" 306 tire. The OD is 1.5x2+306/25.4 = 15inch. If you have 32t cog and 34T chainring, your 15 something gear inch in which is really too light… You will spin like a hamster… This post has been edited by KenC: Oct 19 2017, 06:58 PM |

Talking about sound , my Tern also making some weird "tak" sound at the front if i push it hard on uneven / bouncy road. Is that normal? |

My X20 also squeak when climbing or hitting uneven roads. For the solutions, people said change it handlepost's bearings. Some said add a spacer to it handlepost. Never tried both. |
