Do all exchanges in SG require residence? Can an expat or non-resident malaysian use a SG exchange?

Well, it depends on supply and demand, when ppl fomo, they buy at any price, that pushes the price above, the thing about luno, i stop using it half a year ago before they stop withdrawal and deposit cause they actually have bots to control the price, u dont see luno price dip much even the whole market is falling. Luno say that their price is drive by market demand haha, if u have traded in luno long enough, u know that they always set a high buy wall and sell wall to keep the spread thin, weak hands that wants to dump their coins with fear mentality will just use instant sell, which is good for them as they earn more fees

You can always find other exchanges that support Malaysia if u dig hard enough, and I can even sell at remitano with a profit around 20-25%

If you buy low which is below 50k, you can still make money. Looks at Luno price now 68.6k vs market price from Remitano of 51.6k. Those buying from Luno at 70k or above if transfer out will loss 18.4k instantly. That is why Luno customers prefer to wait and hope the withdrawal issue solve. That is why Luno purposely control the price very high to prevent people from leaving.

Wayyyyyyyy wayyy before IRB freeze their bank accounts, they had already have bots controlling the price, the price now is because everyone wants to sell there due to the high prices but theres barely even volume because no one can deposit money into it

The high price or i usually i referred it as conversion rate from USD to RM is really high for Luno. 2 months ago it used to be 4.23 and now 5.7 or sometime 6.3. Although Luno said they can not control the exchange price, it is based on willing buyer and willing seller which i said is totally bullshit. The high price is to make sure their customers remain in Luno and not to transfer their coins out of Luno due to deposit and withdrawal issues.

I am not too agree of no harm waiting. To me it is 50%-50% because today we can not deposit and withdraw the money but we still can send and receive coins. I may think too much but how about if the issue can not be solved and Luno Malaysia totally shutdown ? By that time, we can't even send and receive coins. Sorry, i really think of very worst case here and i am also stuck in Luno now. Big amount!  cry.gif

Last resort, buy ETH/BTC with the MYR in your Luno wallet.

Transfer out if you are afraid to store it in your Luno wallet.

if you guys have a lot of bitcoins, will you transfer to luno and sell at market price? potentially risking your RM being stuck there forever? funny peeps. blame government, blame luno, blame here blame there.

for those who blame LHDN, luno is running a business in malaysia. let say they didnt declare anything nor pay tax to our country. so its wrong to audit and freeze their accounts just in case they transfer all the money out of malaysia?

for those who blame luno for high btc price, who the hell in their mind will transfer btc to luno and sell at market price at current condition ? ask yourself, why you want to buy btc? to transfer to other places.

peeps, high risk high return. there is no way, no risk high return. good luck.

I'd agree with you on anonymity and ease. but i found sellers and buyers on local bit coin implementing bank like KYC!!!??? WTF? its none of their business! and on the other hand, scams galore "come meet me in a dark alley with a wad of cash" - seriously?
*
What do you mean by bank KYC on localbitcoin?

I bet they didn't submit the tax submissions at all. The kimber did not reply to my question at all.

Otherwise, IRB has no right to freeze the bank account at all under the Income Tax Act 1967 if they fulfil the staturory requirements other than running tax or did not submit the return.

I believe so. Otherwise, Kimbery did not response to my question at all. I bet they appointed the worst secretary service that did not remind them about the statutory requirements and consequences of not compliant with them.

can you answer this?

That is for Luno and LHDN to settle the issue. While they are working on it, we're the victim here. Got cash but can't withdraw.
