I never call, straightway got all discounts in.

called on Sunday. Completed all upgrade including the portal on Wednesday. In between I never need to follow up with TM for anything before it upgraded automatically.
*
You're one of the lucky ones. Mine not that smooth but still bearable. Any equipment change for yours or TM just upgrade on their side? Seems to me, those with equipment change got more probs.

my internet suddenly went down now , can i check throught the portal that my activity order id become PONR .. what is the problem now?
*
Normal, I think they're getting ready for the upgrade. It'll stay as PONR until your upgrade is complete. Your internet should go back up after awhile. Is TM coming for installation? Equipment change?

Hanoi pricing from one of the local ISP, VDC (Vietnam Data Communication Company) under VNPT (Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group) which is owned by Vietnamese Government.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_Posts...nications_Group
Last column is for the discounted price if you agree to pay in advance for the respective months. eg 7,15,23,31 months.
The 5th column is the normal price per month.
All prices not include 10% VAT.

~RM100+ cheaper if you compare with TM/Maxis 30Mbps RM139 promotion price with their 23 months pay in advance discounted price.

Plus, its a fully fiber optic line with sync upload/download speed.
*
That's cheap. Benefits of a socialist government? What's the third column?

Sorry, didn't read your post properly.

My bill is like this. Note that this is with discounts Promo RM150 but missing Special RM50 (already corrected for next bill). My RM10 installation was on 27/11. Billing date 28/11.

Until today it's still showing TQ 50 package for me, I assume I will not pay anything more now until it's shown as 100Mbps in my UniFi account?
*
Not necessarily. Seems like the package and the billing are separate. I was upgraded to 100mbps on Nov 27 when I had my failed installation. Next day was my billing day and I was already billed the new package price even though it's still shows as TQ50 in my Unifi account.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone could share their experience on how long it took unifi to replace a broken modem? Got to prepare for worst case scenario here.

I have received the standard text that they are looking into it and have also received another one saying there will be delays.
*
I reported my BTU rosak PM of Nov 20 and the technicians came in the morning of Nov 22.

That delay sms, best case, is a one day delay.

Yours no Jumbo? Just Aneka, Varnam or Ruby?
Calculation is like this?
299 + VAR 30 - Discount 140 = RM189
Is this right?

I'm not sure how is that calculated maybe you can share your bill here. I was told by CS that mine is RM 200 discount and since others are getting the RM 50 special discount, I better request the same else headache to dispute. soonwai's bill is incorrect I think without the special discount and will be fixed in next bill. He can confirm this again if I'm wrong.
*
Yah, you’re right. My bill was wrongly missing -RM50. Bill came to:
299 + Ruby 30 + Jumbo 60 - Discount 150 = 239

TM already rebated me RM60. Not sure why 60 and package amended to include the Special RM50.

Corrected is:
299 + Ruby 30 + Jumbo 60 - Discount 150 - 50 = 189

PS: sorry fruitie, I forgot to multi-quote again. I keep forgetting that when I’m replying on the phone.

Nope, only windows 10 built-in antivirus.
Strange that only Firefox has it.
Chrome, Edge and IE don't have it.  hmm.gif
*
I think those IPs are Akamai’s CDNs in TM’s address space. Who's using it, I don’t know.

Update: quite sure it's from Firefox itself. Starts from detectportal.firefox.com.edgesuite.net then to Akamai then to one of those IPs.

sorry what is ONU ?  confused.gif

I was using DIR-850L router before that and have no Google Play download delay issue, just not getting over 95Mbps on LAN speedtest

and yes I am also using TM DNS server for the router and Google DNS on PC
*
ONU: optional network unit aka ONT: optical network terminal
TM refers to the above & VDSL modems as BTU: broadband termination unit.

Any recommendations?  Thinking of getting one to replace the current TP-Link one (Archer C1200).  I have a budget of RM500 and DD-WRT support would be extremely useful hmm.gif
*
Get a good router like a Mikrotik RB750Gr3, less than RM290, and keep your C1200 as the wifi AP.

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Dec 10 2017, 02:16 PM)
Any good recommendations for a higher end Mikrotik router? How about Mikrotik AP? Where do I learn more about Mikrotik routers? Am very interested as I keep hearing about them from you and you seem to be the best person to ask about this if I want to know more.
*
I’m definitely the Mikrotik fanboy smile.gif but seriously I like them cause they’re cheap for what they can do. Not that other good routers can’t do it but you have to depend on the manufacturer to put it into the GUI. That’s also why 3rd party firmware like ddwrt is so popular.

Anyway the RB750Gr3 is more than adequate already for our home broadband speeds. It should be able to handle up to 1Gbps or 500mbps with ease. Higher up would be RB850gx2 (~RM600, hw encryption, good for vpn), RB3011 (~RM800, 1GB RAM, good for virtual openwrt routers) The ones above 1k like the RB1100x4 are too much of an overkill.

For basic setup, it’s quite simple. Just follow a guide. However it’s not so easy to setup for more advanced features. For example, it’s easy to setup dual wan on an Asus because it’s already in the GUI. For Mikrotik you have to diy. There are guides but it can be daunting. The advantage of this flexibility is that you aren’t limited to dual wan, you can have as many wans as you have ethernet ports.

For APs, doesn’t really matter what you use. Mikrotik APs are so-so only. Their redeeming feature is that they can be managed centrally. Good if you have many APs. Doesn’t matter much if only have 1 or 2. Of course being Mikrotik, they’re very flexible. For example you can setup a wifi bridge that transmits at outside the usual 2.4ghz channels of 1-13 to avoid interference. Illegal though.

I will do more research based on what you have said here and will go from there. Cheers  notworthy.gif

Sure, no prob. And if you like frequent firmware updates, you’ll love Mikrotik. They have a RC every 2-4 weeks, usually more frequent and a final every month or so. Even old models such as the 8 year old RB750 from 2009 is still supported.

I just sign up today for rm10 upgrade from 50mbps to 100mbps. So I should pay the same as you.

I was told, only got jumbo lite pack. bleh.
How is your latency? is it really better latency for 100mbps?

I am wondering do I get new router? I started with 30mbps. tq surprise to 50mbps.

If new router, I will try to sell that and buy a RT-AC1900uhp for mesh with my RT-AC86U
*
Latency same. Just speed change.

My Speedtest results with UniFi 100mbps at 2.4GHz and 5Ghz tested on an iPhone 6s & DLink DIR-868L AP.

*Link speeds from the DIR-868L's status page.

Router: Mikrotik RB2011UAS-2HnD
AP: D-Link DIR-868L (2.4 & 5GHz power adjusted to Low since I'm in the same room as the DLink)

What router did TM give you last time? If it's an older model, then yeah, you should be given a new one. Most likely C1200 or DIR-850L.

after changing to 100mbps, it seems like only LATEST phone can use the 100mbps. the others all still stuck at maximum 50mbps; and that also if the speed can reach that high 50.
laptop and computer all stuck at 100
can anyone shed a light on this matter?
