my friend...a malay
he's a pro in 3 martial arts...
the silat, the taekwan-do and capoeira...
and also he's quite a trainer at one ghetto gym in gombak...haha...
anyways, i told him bout my plan on starting max-ot...plus im starting slow
he said...actually, he was kinda weak when he was in martial arts...without gym,its hard to build upper bod...
so he said, he only did 2-3 workouts for the major muscle parts in his split workouts...he's not interested in doing so much cuz he works out 5-6 times a week...and also got martial arts training/teaching
ahaha...but he said, he never did more than 3 exercise for each muscle group
hahaha..."can work ah like that?" i ask
he said, if i want to grow fast, do lots of workouts like max-ot (heavy weights and less reps)
but he said, he got so much time, he didnt mind waiting, thats why he made some plan himself and so relax got nice shape in one-two years where else everyone nak cepat in just 6 months...
and he tak ambik any supplements...
hahaha....

Lemme ask u something. I pull and lift pretty heavy weights, with less reps. I'm probably one of the smallest around here with my shirt on.

What's that tell you?

Nope.
Still 73-74KG's lidat....I just tried a particular technique or method that my dad explained to me the other day for my lats. Then it just suddenly grew. That's 2 weeks progress.

It's basically the same as mike mentzer's HIT theory I suppose.
First 2 sets, I did 12 reps each set. Of course, this isn't powerlifting anymore so it's full ROM.

Then 3 more sets of just 3 reps each. But these sets are hella long, like each rep takes 30 seconds or more. Depends how long can tahan la.....at the beginning damn kao lat......damn long can hold, after that....20 seconds also cannot hold. Then my dad'll hold my legs up with 2 fingers, so I can't depend much on him.

Btw, i grip without my thumb.

mike mentzer's theory is one set to complete failure, real slow, maximum contraction, 40 minutes, rest 3 days between workouts.

when i say, mike mentzer, i was speakin in regards to his "slow, maximum contraction" system.

He's just born strong. I'm the one that took my mom's genetics and was born small and weak.The old dog didn't even lift much!! But whatever he gained during his time, he managed to maintain a lot of it. His second son, my brother also got the same genetics. Damn them. If my dad can squat 400 pounds, I CAN! Wait......he did 500 pounds .....I can too!

my dl's fail because of grip.

thanks for the comments guys.........but....my weights...still...the same. I'm still 72-73KG's. Fluctuates.
I'll get some "after gym" pics.

started to incorporate more push ups, pull-ups, single legged squats, olympic movements, lockouts, to get stronger.

nah bro, thanks. I'm just tryin to get stronger, without the size thing. It's expensive wei to change my wardrobe. That time I was at 180, my clothes damn tight. Pants also tight. So I slowly cut ....okay, this is the best part...

I was stuck at a 205LBS bench at 160LBS......then when I went to 180, i snagged a 230LBS bench.....then now that i'm back at 160-165LBS....I can still hit a 230LBS bench! I kinda broke my plateau, just by increasing my weight and the strength stayed. Great!!


also supps....i got mine directly from US, from a friend that comes back every 3 months. 10LBS, lasts about 3 months, he balik, ngam ngam habis. so.....hehehe, tak beli from ego.

I usually train thrice a week. However, been slackin the past 2 months....recently start workin out properly again, incorporating a lot of olympic lifts and deadlifts and squats, as well as partials and lockouts to increase my strength and better my technique. Been doing a lot of dynamic work, very very explosive but tiring.

btw, i don't train for the physique anymore.....i'm training for strength, so my goals are entirely differently and so are my training methods.

and i STILL don't watch my diet tongue.gif

i'd think that it's more of triceps, shoulders and lats right?

i'd like to join you for wallclimbing. I seriously do, cuz I've heard how much fun it can be. I'm very eager to try.
