nolar, i've planned to switch to BB much earlier. Rmbr? I want the 400 squat/dl ma.....so if I get close to it, I'm quite happy already.
I was thinking, go on powerlifting till maybe about September. Then start bodybuilding, but then I tot......"wait, i've got camps to attend and manage in December.." So I definitely won't be able to watch my eating and training. Might as well just bulk now, then around November, cut for a month and see where I go. I noticed my shoulders are really lagging nowdays, hahaha...I guess clean/presses don't count as shoulder workouts then. hehehe...... i hope i can get stronger from bodybuilding too. |

U noe, stop worrying about bodyfat, just use the mirror. I don't understand why some people are so obsessed about being 5% bf, 8% bf...yada yada.
As bodybuilders, you guys are supposed to look good without your shirts, so stop worrying about the BF%. Let that be the burden of scientists and doctors. Some people look leaner albeit a higher bf, some people look flabbier albeit lower bf, it's just a weird process. So just relax, train, eat, rest. Oh and just to annoy you all, powerlifters fTW! (I've never actually use FTW, but whatever) |

I believe in balance. One of the many important teachings of Buddhism. (play soft background music)
Too much or something, you'll look like that synthol freak 26" bicep gaylord drug dealer. Too little, you'll look like that 6" 50KG basketball player. I'm goin for 18" arms. Think I can get it? Mmmm..... |

Hahaha, ah ain't too worried about the arms actually. As long as it's strong, it's all good. Don't need the largest arm to be shit strong. As long as ah can still kick ass in the ring, i'm good. *Proudly displays medals*

nah man....used to
Tkd interschool, interassociation and interstate only. Decided to stop after the messed up rules disallowed front kicks and side kicks. Like wtf right? The strongest kicks are disallowed.........what's the point???! Then they became SO godamnned protective of their fighters, till the point they disallowed pushing kicks from certain fighters. Example, ME! I couldn't use pushing kicks but my opponent can! Have you heard of such nonsense? Then there was one kid that I fought, half-a-way he raised his arm for readjustment WHILE my feet was already flying through the air, I GOT DISQUALIFIED! So u can see, i'm highly pissed with taekwondo ever since. And i think it's a good thing, ever seen taekwondo win in a MMA event? |

QUOTE(King83 @ May 11 2007, 02:18 PM) malaysia mah... I'll tell you one thing, jiujitsu is a nice sport to learn, but it's hardly applicable. It may be applicable if you're at a high level already, but if your opponent is a practicioner of a hard martial art like karate, you're as good as tofu. you guys ever thought of joining jiujitsu? ground game very important especially if u meet a wrestler... he can't win u in terms of striking, but once he takes you down(and he will), gg.com All that grappling moves I learnt and all, I've never once actually found them of any use. My brother comes to me with a flying kick, there's no way I'm going to consider holding his toes and snapping him down. I'll break my fingers if I try that. They say about grappling hard on the ground, but when I saw how fast a MMA fighter can escape a ground grapple, I told myself, forget it jiujitsu. QUOTE(Neek @ May 11 2007, 02:30 PM) Excellent question. What dumbfck rules right? I cannot hit hard, I cannot hit with the powerful techniques learnt, I can only use turning kicks which is practically bullshit because they don't allow u to use your toes, u can only use the flat part of your feet to make a loud sound. They actually encourage you to scream louder than ur opponent to frighten them. SPORT? Bullshit.......................taekwondo's a joke lemme tell you this. And before someone says I'm some n00b or crap, i am a black belt and almost took my second dan test, before these stoopid bullcrap came up. |

QUOTE(King83 @ May 11 2007, 02:58 PM) tofu? no way !!! it's true that grappling an opponent on the ground, is awesome way of gettin the person to tap out. however problems;no one escapes takedowns. You can execute takedowns even while your opponent is halfway attacking. Sure, u'll get hit once or 2, but once the fight takes to the floor, u can easily submit him. How is jiujitsu not applicable? Submitting is easier than knocking someone out. Even big guys submit, cos if they don't, they risk losing a limb or get choked out. you can only escape ground grapples IF you're a better grappler urself. 1. GETTING the person on the floor. If I know ur good at jiujitsu, I'll NEVER let you close to me. I'll be flinging my legs at your feet ala muay thai the moment I feel ur too close. I won't open my fingers cuz I know about the finger and palm lock. MMA fighters are more knowledgable than all of us about the essence of other martial arts. 2. In a real fight, you do NOT want to be on the floor with ur opponent with a knife. You're totally askin for trouble. BUT, jiujitsu, is excellent as a supplementary art. Personally, I would base my primary style with muay thai and boxing, and supplement it with jiujitsu and taichi. Mix hard arts with soft arts. Prob about jiujitsu is, it's so bloody technical, you've gotta keep practicing it until it becomes natural. Else you CANNOT apply it in a fight. QUOTE(EmperorMeng @ May 11 2007, 02:59 PM) what happen to body hardening? IINM, muay thai and kungfu uses that, i don't think taekwondo has it applied. We weren't ever taught to kick hard things, all we kicked were kicking pads, punching bags and those body shields. However, when we saw the 8th dan master from singapore sunny tan, he did say he practiced with kicking wood.i thought martial artists should increase density of bone by hitting harder and harder objects in progress I've only seen the scottish and australian grandmaster, i've not seen the korean grandmaster for taekwondo though. ironically, both koreans. heard the korean one gonna die already. |

QUOTE(YenS @ May 11 2007, 09:15 PM) *gulp* wat the heck?Hey, King's cool tho. I didnt know he was a wresting dude cos he wore taekwondo pants. but then again, he had a wrestling cape.. hmm. I used to do TKD, and this one time i got my ass whooped real bad during a friendly with a rival school. My mom was so shocked when i entered the car with my sleeves all red with blood. Heh, but after all that beating i took, at least i managed to squeeze a single illegal KO punch on his jaw. Not sure if he lost a tooth or not, but he was bleeding. LOL I think theres a disparity of standard between TKD associations. I was an ITF red belt holder, but that opponent who gave me a whoopin' was a blue belt WTF. And when i switched to WTF, they rated me a green belt only. punches to the face are illegal wat. |

As I've always said, the concept of bulking/cuttin is too troublesome, too complicated for me. I only believe in this. Eating, slightly above your maintenance level of calories.
Check your maintenance level, I think shud be approxmiatelly 3000 cals a day, try eating about 3300 cals, high protein of course, minimise oil and high GI carbos and constantly snack. Alternatives to rice would be yam, potatoes, wholemeal bread and such. Get your fats from fish oil capsules and eggs. I intend to gain some weight using this method. Heck, i've always gained using this method. It's when I go slightly below maintenance, I start losing weight. (I'm 20 and I've A.D.D, so i guess that sums up the metabolism topic) U might not be so sueh to lose weight so fast. |

King, stop believing that. Bodybuilding has a few good quotes;
1. If you can't flex it, don't isolate it. 2. You can't flex fat. 3. IF you ain't got it, you can't flex it. You don't have lats, that's why you can't flex it. So just stop believing that bullcrap that you have lats. You don't. Try harder. This post has been edited by pizzaboy: May 26 2007, 01:52 PM |
