No interested kakis here, so I'm asking elsewhere and also hunting for Sellers whom are providing better discounts.

All in all, still one of the items in my priority list for the Forte.

hey, i just recently got a kia forte 2012 facelifted with almost 180k km mileage, all services done at dealership and the interior is pretty pristine. there are a few drawbacks though which i need to ask for owner's input to fix it.
1) "gluk gluk gluk" sound coming from chassis upon acceleration from standstill, the sound is constantly heard until 30km/h.
2) The + paddle shifter will stuck when press, then bounce back few seconds later with a "click" sound.
3) the right rear seat folding release is stuck open, will not lock the seat when i pull them back to their original position. can only lock when i push inward on the release lever. Lever will bounce back to open once i release it.
4) The suspension feel loose, the car feel abit restless eventhough the steering does not have free play.

1) It's almost impossible for any of us here to pin-point the source of problem for you as there are multiple parts (singularly or a combination of) which, upon failure/worn, may exhibit such symptoms. If guesswork is what you're expecting from us, then I'd say it could very well be worn bushes/lower arms, driveshaft, absorbers and springs, etc.

2) Perhaps the internal spring has broken or came off? However, since it clicks back into position after a while, I'm going to guess that there may be the presence of adhesive materials/dust clumps which could be jamming up the mechanism.

3) Try checking the release lever + the entire cable line to ensure that nothing is pressing on the cable and/or causing a kink.

4) Refer to point# 1.

Is it original or oem? If its oem korea ones then not advisable according to 1 of the mechanic who does many engine mounts.
Mine was due to change as well, 1.6 6spd. Driver side has dropped about 1-2cm. So went to asked around, segambut quote me RM390 for 4 oem korea ones but my mech advise against it as oem is not as good as original. Being parts that are under stress everyday, oem ones are prone to wear out quicker.

I did check with autosaver, 980 + 140 labor and hk tech 1100 inclusive labor. But i hvn check with them whether they are using ori.

So far 'touch wood' havent heard any ECU issue with the 2.0sx, mostly the 1.6 variant. Hope it stays that way biggrin.gif
Other than that, it should be a solid purchase.
Just be aware at this age, the famous 'Gluk Gluk Gluk' noise coming from the front will be the one of the things to be aware off.
Read more on the earlier post as some here have done some replacements, and even just tighten a screw here and there and it just disappears.
