Sometimes after years of usage  , the spring also can become lembik, this you need  change spring, as even with a good absorber your riding experience will become floaty.

Forte 1.6SX 2011 is a bigger car (& handsome) than the 2008 Honda City. U will get more metal for your money smile.gif

Other than that u get extra features like smart entry with start stop button, 7" dispaly, 6 speed transmission, electrochromic rear mirror etc...

Yes. This bulb is designed to be sealed in.

Later I post pictures after almost 2 weeks use

Are these the same bulbs bro?
Did you purchase yours from a local or overseas seller?

These are the same model.

Local seller with 2 years warranty.

Almost wanted to spit out my drink but realized I paid about there after discount.

Honda city is more comfortable car, less cabin noise and better handling.

Forte got more features such as reverse cam, big touchscreen, etc. And more handsome too.

Over the years I realize that I actually value comfort more.., especially when youre bringing ur family around.. so choose wisely ..

A photo would be great, thank you!

So, no drilling of the dust covers are required?

Philips Ultinon LED ~H7

Attached Image

Compact build with adjustable angle to align bulb inside the headlamp. Driver is built into the bulb, no fan, detachable back.

Attached Image

Sits inside the headlamp neatly. Tucking in the wire lets you close the dust cap nicely. Installation manual says to close the dust cap.

Attached Image

Attached Image

Clean, accurate colour and bright. Exactly same hue as OEM LED from Merc, Honda and BMW.

Attached Image

Attached Image

Clean cutoff (but not particularly sharp), hotspot in the right place, minimal glare, range easily passing 150m.

Overall, very happy.

Side note, since I installed until today, I have passed through several roadblocks polis and jpj. No problem.

Did you guys face any issue with the Touch screen LCD on Kia Forte 2012-2013 version?
The screen color faded to white and unable to recover back to normal..
Any fix to this? or need to change the whole unit?

Hi all,

Happy to see the owners thread going past v20...kudos 😁

As you may have all encountered, i am a soon to be forte owner *hopefully*

Now surveying and comparing to the likes of altis and maybe vw jetta..
I really like the styling of the forte...looks cool even aftr so many years...and from what i have read, drives well too..

But what worrys me is the abundance of it in the second hand market and its relatively low price.

So, all of you long time owners...have you faced any inherent issue that made you regret getting your forte..i am totally fine with regular maintenance and replacing worn out parts..but are there any big ticket items or mecahnical issues that occurs regularly?

I really do like this car and i am just hoping not to bite of more than i can chew.

Thanks in advance for the advice everyone.

Low Beam (the headlight function commonly used during night-time) = H7

Personally, no issues with my 2012 Forte (mileage: ~58K km).

However, buying any used car requires a little extra homework on the Buyer's part because oftentimes a vehicle's general condition is very much dependent on its owner's driving and maintenance habits.
In other words, vehicles with careless owners would generally be worse off compared to those owned by careful owners.

Nonetheless, to answer your question in general, there hasn't been any widespread reports of Drivetrain (i.e. engine, gearbox) failures suffered by the Forte.

Predominant issues reported are mostly confined to electronics (e.g. Ignition Coils, Crankshaft Position Sensor, Brake Switch rubber washer, slightly premature wearing of linkages and bushes due to the sportier suspension and 17" + low-profile tyre setup, etc.).

All the above are issues that may be resolved within RM 500 and below (some as low as only RM 10 + a little DIY).

That said, it is best that you carry out the necessary due diligence before committing on any used vehicles, regardless of brand or model.

Good luck and I hope that you'll come across a well-kept Forte sooner rather than later!

2012 1.6sx 6-spd @ 150k km.

overall, it's been a very capable, practical and still handsome(ish) car. usual wear and tear stuff. still happy with it, but if you're riding in newer ceratos, there is a marked difference in quality and NVH. still good for the class.

if you're looking at 2.0, check the electric power steering gear... or that thing that looks like a gear.

powered side mirror problems such as motor and gear breakage also happens.

I see...thank you for the info.Presently looking at the 1.6 models.
I do value comfort and NVH, but i guess coming from my waja , the forte should alrdy be a reasonable upgrade..

Havinng said that i am predicting some sound insulation work will be done to future forte 😂

Thank you for your input.

Thank you for your detailed explanation.I do agree that the condition of the car would depend heavily on the previous owner.

Judging by the expected repairs listed, i would say that it is reasonable.Given the number of active users on the forum, i am sure i wouldnt have much problem sourcing parts or where to repair them.

I do hope i can find a good example but looks like that is good to require some looking around.

Nervertheless, thank you for your input.

From my own personal experience of driving the waja, the forte brings tangible upgrades to you.

from fit & finish, material quality, buttons and general feel of the car.

mind you the forte is heavy(ish) at 1.3t, city driving is not its forte and gets a little expensive (8-10km/l). Out on the highway and open roads, it does better (12-14km/l) and drives well too.

long journeys are enjoyable.
