Awfully quiet around here.

Just wondering if it's ok to put 215/50 tires on stock SX rims.
*
It's okay to use 215/50R17 tyres on the stock rims.
Only minor issue is that the front tyres may rub against the inner tyre well during full-lock turns (and depending on vehicle load).

Hi All,

Anyone here changed their alternator yet. I had to change mine recently and it cost quite a bit - RM 2500. Done it at one authorized naza kia outlet. My mileage above 130K. Car is Forte 2.0SX.

Is it that expensive?
*
Been quoted the same price at Kia Service centre also. My problem was the pulley spoilt (freee running). At last replace only the pulley at Korean Car Mate Glenmarie for around RM500++ because SC couldn't replace only the pulley.

I noticed a very high concentration of fortes around Puchong area.

Most owners live there?

I'm kind if happy to report the purple absorbers from KSW are pretty good. So, if you ever get a good deal on them, it's worth considering.

I did service with them when I changed my absorbers, vbelt, lower arm, vbelt, bush, tensioner bearing.... They used HKS 10W40 (I think) fully synthetic oil. My first time with them and many things done at one time lah. Seems ok.

Haven't been KCM. I used to service at Naza Kia.

Like this? I was using KSA for less than a week before it blew out the oil. Then only changed to the purple one.

I think no, never notice in the forum here...I only tried b4 the shifter loose and can't change gear at all...
At the end, change the whole set at SC, around 700

pls elaborate your problem and solution?

Halfway typing, macam told before.. but let me just repeat myself.

Problem : accelerating from standstill (traffic lights, park) at 1st gear in D may cause the gear shifter to move forward and touch N. Causing the car to lose drive halfway. Accelerating hard will just pop the gear into neutral. In short, dangerous.

Cause : not gearbox in my case. But weakened engine mount allowing engine to twist forward under torque, pulling the gear cable forward also.

Short fix : hold the gear shifter so it doesn't move when in 1st gear.

Mid term fix : adjusted gear cable to have some slack. This causes the gear shifter to be rougher to engage though.

Long term fix : change engine mount. Don't know how much this one yet.

Can. But no different from just holding the shifter until it goes into 2nd.
